I was a neet for like 6 months in between college and high school, and moved across the country with my family. I downloaded a psp emulator and Persona 3 Portable and played it on my shitty laptop. I couldn't afford a new tv or anything.

I played that game all day every day for a while. The story really affected me in a way that a game hasn't been able to in a while. I enrolled in classes at a local community college a little later and got a job, too.

I am not going to say that P3P is why i got my shit together, but it definitely helped me figure out that moving was better than staying still.

We got a flat together and basically lived on welfare which was below the poverty line but we really didn't need much to be happy. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, a collection of vidya and a motorbike. When our son came along she went ahead and got a junior PM job and left me to take care of the kid all day, but we both felt bad that we were a single income household and couldn't afford the stuff the kid needs to thrive. I don't want to raise a kid on slop. I don't want to shop for his clothes at goodwill. I don't want him going to a terrible basketball-american riddled school etc etc.

So I did what any retard without a highschool diploma would do. I lied on my resumes and got a basic tech support job and then worked my tits off over 5 years to get into a management role. We both work from home so it's no big deal. We saved like hell and put a downpayment on a house, leased a car, and from the outside looking in you'd think we definitely have our shit together and always have, but my god I miss that 4 year window at the start where all we did was screw, drink, smoke and play video games. Now I'm pulling overtime left and right so the kid can keep attending a private school, we make sure he has everything he needs, take him out to cool places and whatevers left we're throwing at the mortgage every year.

I work in the shittiest part of California where it’s impossible to get an entry level job and all the job that requires an education of any kind is desperately hiring. I really wish I had taken school more seriously or had someone to guide me in my youth to not quit. I know I can do it know still in my 30s but I’m in an endless cycle of destroying my life and restarting almost endlessly. I get a job, eventually fallout with someone and over quit due to the injustice of something or get pushed out and eventually fired. I literally can’t stop myself from calling out shit that’s not fair. Same with all my gfs, the moment they do something that I deem as a betrayal or some dishonesty I punish them until I destroy the relationship. It’s a shitty cycle I can’t seem to stop. I’m pretty close to giving up. Some days I’m insanely motivated to better myself then other days I just pick apart all of my failures and don’t want to get out of bed or brush my teeth or do anything.

I am currently a NEET shut-in.
The games I've pumped the most hours into are Squad and The Finals.
I've stopped playing Squad ever since the infantry combat overhaul, and I have to take breaks from The Finals every so often for my own mental well-being.
I've played plenty of Warframe, Cyberpunk, TF2, Battlefield, and Deep Rock Galactic as well, but those 2 aforementioned games take the cake as far as game time is concerned.
