There's a difference between being able to connect with art and being a drone that feels emotions on command because you were told to. E33 is the latter. The people of Lumiere being sidelined for the Dessendre plot means most of what we learn about Lune and Sciel feels like it was all a waste. My biggest complaint about E33 is that it’s not balanced at all. You can become gamebreakingly OP just by equipping a bunch of damage Pictos.

Yes but this only becomes apparent in the last third of the game. The majority of it is spent fighting for a population that is believed to be real. Realistically the player isnt just going to go by what is best for Maelle based on escapism, they are going to take into account the relationships they built with Gustave, Lune, Sciel, and their legacy. So the comparison is absolutely warranted
