MoP is the cut off. Everything after it is "Nu Blizzard" or just Activision if you speak plainly. MoP atleast allowed you to get to a point where you were done with progression outside of raid drops. It "felt" like a game, not something to farm metrics with.
>WoD
It was aborted before it even launched. Most of the content was canceled. Basically a movie tie in game. Added in shit like alternate universes and gave people the ability to travel to them. Worse of all this is where Blizzard started to make grinds insane(and timegated) to the point of the game actually feeling like a job. This is where I quit for the first time for no other reason than I did not like the content.
>Legion
shit like "borrowed power" became a thing, the grinds are now functionally endless. Characters were killed/depowered left n right so they can make sure the player character feels like The Special. Illidan is back and is a very smug cuck. Introduced Mythic+, which just made getting BiS even more of a pain in the ass. I came back because it looked cool and the LEGION was finally back. I quit before the second raid even came out.
>BFA
"borrowed power" is back. The grind is reset to 0 and is still functionally endless. Everything feels rushed and half assed. Mainly because they used 2-4 expansions worth of ideas over the patches. I came back at the ass end of the expansion. I've always been a sucker for Troll/Old god Lore. I stayed around for Shadowlands because it had alot of potential.

Once AGAIN "borrowed power" is back along with it's infinite(and time gated!) grind. You guessed it, it's reset to 0 and all that grinding you did last expansion is useless. There was alot of opportunity for cool shit to go down. They did none of it, it was rushed out the door. It was beyond retarded in all ways.
After that I did I freed my warchief on mythic my time ran out and I never came back.
