WoW was never meant to have cinematics like that, the engine wasn't built to not look like shit when doing it like this.

That's because WoW was made as a classic MMORPG in which gameplay was first and foremost and cinematics were sparse and out of engine. In WotLK they started dabbling in it with the Wrathgate one but it was fine because they were very sparse still.

However with FFXIV they started moving to a more narrative-driven system that demanded much more in-game cinematics of cool people doing cool things, and it sticks out like a sore thumb because the engine was built to feel right when playing and not look right when seeing it (i'd say almost the opposite to FFXIV).

There's nothing good about TWW even beyond the garbage political messaging they're shoving into the game, though. Class balance is abysmal, PvP is dead and gone, M+ is a mindless slog with a worse community than League Of Legends has, Delves are a bandaid for that issue and a flat admittance by the developers themselves that the game and the other players have become so painful to interact with that it's better offer solo content as a viable means of gear progression.

Raids are either easy and boring at the lower difficulty levels or require 10+ addons and manually adjusting weak auras to progress through at the Mythic level.
