On Wednesday July 2nd 8am CET (Tuesday night for Americans) we are going to promote #StopKillingGames on Twitter to get it trending. Our current 4 day signature rate is HIGHER than it was at the start of the campaign btw.
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE THE POWER OF POSITIVE THOUGHT! ESPECIALLY COLLECTIVE POSITIVE THOUGHT!
THIS SHIT IS GOING TO REACH 1,000,000 SIGNATURES EASILY!
HOLD THAT THOUGHT AND VISUALIZE IT IN YOUR MIND EVERYDAY AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE STARTING NOW AND IT WILL MANIFEST INTO REALITY. DO IT! I'M NOT JOKING!
VISUALIZE AS OFTEN AND AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE!
EVERYTHING IS ENERGY AND VIBRATION
ATTUNE YOUR VIBRATIONS TO MATCH THAT OF FREE STUFF AND IT WILL FLOW TO YOU
We are slightly beating our sign rate from our first 4 days of the campaign by about 20%. If it has a similar curve as that did than we might be able to make it.

Conan Exiles and Rust both have that, which is why they will never die even should development cease on both of those games and their developer completely abandon them. Okay let me make a rebuttal of all the common critques
>this is forcing devs to keep servers up forever
What is community server hosting?
What is peer to peer connection
What is removing artificial server connections from games that dont need them (Hitman and the like)
People are just unaware of alternatives simply because they are used to being treated like cattle.
>this is big government creeping into our lives and having tyranny manifest
Regulating an industry is not tyranny, its how you prevent a healthy free market transforming into a edging towards ancap hell state like the US.
>i hate ecelebs so i wont support anything an eceleb does
Ecelebs also breathe. You should stop doing that too.

Or do you imagine that PSN is a magical hivemind of PS3's talking to one another to form one big powerful supercomputer? Because it's not like that at all. The online connectivity of PSN games is guaranteed by countless dedicated servers running on their in-house software stack. Each game with an online component that is present on PSN has its own software that acts as such.

You can compare the drop in sales figures in sum along with something called an "average" which is how we figure out when averaging different things. Yes people are more likely to buy things during sales or during christmas and such. However by gathering a lot of datapoints you can smooth out the irregularities by comparing it from multiple sources and seeing how heavily it effects sales figures in the sum of all video games measured in the study thus deducing a general pattern. This is how statistics work. That's basic common sense shit and how we measure multiple datapoints

>And only they do it. Ever ask yourself why?But they aren't the only ones doing it at all
>>713986658Josh would never hand over his stash, just like he keeps archives of all the zoosadist shit for himself.
>>713986550from what i understand its probably retarded and calculates steam sales and then subtracts from the multiplied downloads from pirate bay minus profits as "lost sales"
>>713986617you have a fifth grader's understanding of math
>>713986716That’s using Microsoft.
So are you asking for all game devs to have to buy into Microsoft or valve server support?
>>713986806> and we should accept worse products than what we received beforeThat’s the trade off for having more games to play. No one is forcing you to play the games that don’t provide the support you want.
>>713986726that makes no sense, and you know it.
therefore the proposal is idiotic and only a foot in the door.
afterwards you will demand source code, you fucking commie.
>>713981092based, that's why they're spamming these threads for their faggy petition so much
>>713986695It's easily verifiable to check whether they use Steamworks networking. And they don't.
Deal with it, you piece of vaginal excrement.
>>713986978Is piracy communism?
>>713985757>>713986736Dont fucking pile me with these retards.
I've been here dismissing shills since day 1. This shit will benefit us too because it will make piracy easier.
>>713986851They allow both community and dedicated servers, and the latter are not using any company middlemen, retard.
>>713986978>that makes no senseThat makes perfect sense.
>afterwards you will demand source code, you fucking commie.Yes, I will also demand them to serve me dinner and shine my boots too, why don't I.
>>713986726>So...what the fuck is your problem then?you being commie slime.
>the games stop workingactually they don't, you fucking idiot.
the point of ScummVM is that old bugs are getting fixed and games can be played without fiddling around because modern OS don't properly work.
The games themselves work fine without problems on the computers that they were made for.
>>713986921>That’s the trade off for having more games to playThat's a bad trade off, and more games doesn't mean better games
>No one is forcing you to play the games that don’t provide the support you want.Because A), a game can be good even though it requires a central server and B), this practice will slowly spread to games I care about. Further, I don't like the idea of not owning something I buy, regardless of what media it is
>>713986721that is not what i said at all. you in fact made an entirely new sentence. I said
"indies do not host their own servers and would most likely use steamworks. This would be a steamworks issue"
this implies that the burden therefore wouldnt be them pulling the plug but steam pulling the plug which means valve removing online functionality which would be a VALVE issue of them removing server support rather than the devs own fault as a third party removed functionality.
you instead somehow are implying that I want valve to personally host all indie game servers ever. Im going to beat you with a pipe wrench.
>>713987054> and the latter are not using any company middlemen, retard.Incorrect. They pay a license for the infrastructure that allows for this stuff.
>>713986484Windows 2000 is not a problem. LOL i unironically have multiple copies of it.
>>713986779>when Wii used Gamespy, that was consoles and le bad>when PC-slop used Gamespy, that was great and awesome>when Gamespy was shut down, that was muh Nintendo is retarded>but PC-slop was yay master race
you don't even need a server list tho
>>713986827You are retarded
>>713987109> this practice will slowly spread to games I care aboutNigger this practice is older than you.
>>713987179And you have not once said anything of substance ever. Please kill yourself posthaste and stop interjecting where you shouldn't
>>713986293Ain't no one watching your shitty videos.
>>713987154Strawmen don’t help you get your petition signed.
>>713987286I spit on your petition
spit spit
>>713987253>yeah bro we estimated our sales to be ten million>we only sold ten>it's clearly the pirates!Again, there is no factual basis for actually assessing "losses" due to piracy. Any inflated guesses by people who want there to be "losses" so they can push their shit even more is entirely worthless. As are you.
I bet you also think Concord failed because of le chud trolls or whatever, it's the same line of reasoning.
>>713987082>comparing online functionality to a wrapperYou're legitimately retarded.
>>713979405>Imagine being this denseLegally they can't do that, the fact they do is only because no one has sued them and set a legal precedent that they shouldn't be able to steal you're money with no recourse.
If a game company bans you from their game, they should, at the very least, give back every single cent you spent in the game including all associated purchases and subscriptions.
This way all those permabans and trigger happy AIs would disappear from all games within a year since they would lose so much money they'd rather not ban everyone and their mother.
>>713987464>there is no way>except indies can track who submits highscores and who stole the gaem
>>713978231Do you complain about spam in other threads, or just ones you care about?
This isn't about the spam.
>>713985557>Are you asking for a refund years after you’ve bought the product? If it's under warranty, then yes. I'm asking for a refund or repair.
>>713987471>ScummVM is a wrapper>the VM stands for wrapperlmao
low IQ retard detected
>>713987464Anon. I don't believe that piracy hurts sales. I pulled these statistics because the estimation someone else made was way off and assumed piracy was crippling the video games economy and pointed out even people who agreed with him said it was only a 20% decrease in sales "at most".
You're attacking somebody who agrees with you
>>713987697>refund or repairor replacement
>>713987705>ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical adventure and role-playing games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed! ScummVM is a complete rewrite of these games' executables and is not an emulator.Functionally it is a wrapper in all but name.
>>713987717>nothing is crippling anything>sales on PC are simply dog shit>but that's because uhhhhh>well anyway it has nothing to do with thieves>also see the PSP>PEOPLE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY GTA ANYMORE, YEAH?
>>713987717...I am sorry. These graphs just put me into a blind rage and then I am more beast than man.
>>713986637Being so incompetent that you ruin your own game and render it unplayable in the future is a ford pinto tier manufacturers defect dummy.
>>713987882>Functionally it is a wrapperIn reality it's all sorts of GAME ENGINES *rebuilt*, you fucking moron.
that's why cool stuff is possible in ScummVM, but isn't in shit like ShitBox. Like having new functionality which wasn't there. Or fixing 50 year old bugs. Or using game data to display more colors than the original GAME ENGINE displayed.
>>713988036And? The games covered by this were never in danger of dying. I don't see why you brought this up in the first place.

>>713987905These people weren't going to buy the game to begin with. You equate physical merchandise to digital goods. That's like saying watching a letsplay of a Virtual Novel or a walkthrough of a ride/a theme park is equivalent of a lost sale. You are thinking with a 20th century brain but the digital age is simply different. If you think piracy is hurting video games then you must also think that anybody who watches a lets play on line is also functionally stealing money from the dev.
>>713987917lol its all good.
we should promote it and publish it in every social media available
>>713988243>dying>all sorts of games have major problems running properly on faster systems, or don't work at all anymoreThe problem is ONLINE DRM and YOU supported that by using Steam, you fucking Steamie retard.
>>713987224>no argumentOpinion discarded
>>713988308>weren't going to buy the game to begin withDenuvo is supposed to lock these non-payers out, which is a good thing.
So no harm done then and Denuvo can stay and in fact should get expanded, just like Valve proposes.
