>>714065194Man, the whole game is a big allegory on modern politics. Spoilers, obviously.
America has become entirely privatized, the president is a leader of an organization called APAC who wants to expand its influence all over the world, he creates a climate of fear and division by producing and providing arms to radical groups, supporting a guy who literally wants to bring about the end of the world with an army of machines.
Then it turns out that his company is a front for a hivemind of evil vengeful spirits of the past who want to turn humans into digital beings by enslaving them to their machines. And, wouldn't you know it, they have no idea that all they've been doing with that is aiding the guy who's been using them to bring about the apocalypse by, literally, taking away tomorrow whose leading an ancient egyptian death cult.
And that's not even getting into stuff like Neil's background as a government employed human trafficker.
Kojima's one of the few political writers in the industry. And I mean explicitly political, not wishy washy "I support good things and reject nad things political" but someone who will call out the things he wants to criticize directly.
