Akiba's Trip is an Acquire game that was released in 2013 for the PS Vita and PS3, 12 years ago. It was then ported to the PC in 2015, 10 years ago. It sat unchanged for 10 years.

The issue is not the changes, but what the developers will do in the future. They have revealed they have no integrity. If they get into a jam, say single mothers find out about the school shooter level and complain, Sony will tell the developers to remove it and they will.

That and the fact now the game's story and levels will have to be designed with the console rating in mind. That's why the newer DLC levels are so water downed compared to the the main story.

But as it is every missions events are completely isolated and thus feeling like edgy shockvalue that is forgotten 20 minutes later and i think that is why they had no other choice but to make those changes.

Like imagine if unis rushed to the scene, picked up the girl, EMTs rushing her to the hospital and some time later you hear that she's in some CPS program making progress, trauma, blabla. That sort of thing. Now she'd be character and not just a kid OD'ing.

The streamer SWAT raid mission turns up pizza that leads to an anonymous server host mission, which then leads to this party villa run by a rich pedo that has a nightmare studio in his secret basement.
There are also two or three missions that share a storyline about a group of veterans turned political activists turned assassins.
When I played through the game for the first time I thought that all of the missions would one way or another fall into the groove of two or three storylines that would run parallel and intersect in places, but really all I can think of are those two. The giant gratuitous Police Station mission hub feels entirely pointless as well. All I ever saw that went on there between missions was cops talking to each other about PTSD councilling. I thought I'd be able to chat up the detectives and look at the evidence from the missions I completed and see the corkboard lining everything up, but there doesn't seem like much going on.

That was the FISA liason talking, which links to the weird shit FISA is involved with. There's no more because that's the last mission in the game, and the DLC seem to want to advance the story. Maybe there will be something in the future maps they're adding in the summer. The story is very slim and Void doesn't seem to be in any rush to elaborate.

A blur of some tiddies in 1 cutscene shouldn't warrant a return on a regular game but if it's a porngame that becomes a whole different matter.

GOG offers the ability to download old versions of games, why can't Steam? Why do they force updates before you can even launch a game?

Wrong. That was actually because of the EU.

The Australian case was a matter of Steam being unwilling to honor Australians right to product that is fit for purpose, and being unwilling to refund them for a product that was not.

The Steam refund policy and its 14-day / 2-hour limitation is a commercial substitute for the EU's right of withdrawal, which is a 14-day grace period in which a consumer can withdraw from ANY contract for a distance sale without reason stated. This right had a waiver clause added it to it for digital content, after extensive lobbying by the industry boo-hoo-hoo-ing that it would ruin their business model if the right of withdrawal could be abused to arbitarily rent any game for 13 days and return it on the 14th.
The EU was willing to concede to that and offered them the means to ask a consumer to waive their right of withdrawal. However, they also warned the industry that they would periodically observe the state of the market for abuse of the waiver and that they would want the industry to offer commercial alternatives that, as much as possible without harming their business model, would keep to the spirit of the right of withdrawal. Failing to do so would result in the EU removing the waiver clause from law again, and leaving the industry up shit creek.

That's why Valve created the refund policy for Steam.
And why EA did it for Origin a few months before Valve, even.
