What made tf2 so memorable wasn't the gameplay or updates but the people who played it and most of those people are now 30-40, have kids and are for the most part adults with very little time for anything yet alone games. What remains are 3rd worldie children who can not afford better (the game is free and can run on their 20 year old potatoes), omega autists who have hundreds of thousands kills on their strange weapons who are pub stomping every server they join but are so boring as a person that its possible to mistake them for super hard bots and not real people.
oh and of course you got the type f people on /tf2g/ on /vg/ board who mostly populate community servers, namely saxton hale and deathrun which are like 90% of populated community servers

Also try not to touch her too much, instead get on her level like lay on the floor next to her and just... Stay there for a few minutes now and then... Cats show affection by just being near you, many of them aren't too touchy, just lay there and blink slowly at her and she will understand, don't touch till she gets used to your presence

A good course of action was probably to do this training first and then get another cat, but it's still possible
