the guy making the video is autistic and picked a very poor name for the relatively simple concept of holding the A button down. In a full 120 star run holding the button is free because you use the initial press somewhere else, but when looking at an individual level holding the button does require a button press.

my favourite was this one guy who was trying to get sub-four hours in RE7 without running, and he came up with a storyline involving ethan being catfished to frame the whole thing
he got through nearly the entire game without a huge amount of struggle only to reach the part where you have to inject evelyn, which took nearly 20 minutes of the video and hours upon hours of in-game attempts before he found a way to get through it via blowing himself up and using the fact that evelyn's wind attacks can push you horizontally
