Ah night time, I can enjoy a nice thread about my favorite video game.
Lately I've been running pet decks to see what gets to diamond, seems like honestly you can just fall up the ladder to diamond. So far, my best pet deck has been Fish/Ghoti, in terms of games where both players got cards on the field and not just instasurrendering after losing the Maxx C mini game.
My favorite match up has to be going first against Tearlament piles, and going second against Branded, unless they hard draw BrapFu.
Anyone else doing stuff to shake things up a bit for yourselves?

In all fairness you can Imperm the Lacrima after the link 1 and it usually stops it for the turn. Granted it grinds like a mother fucker, but it's not unbeatable. I think fiendsmith is fine, if anything Lacrima being banned only slows it down, the archetype was thriving even before her. They'd have to ban Sequence to force it to rely on Tract in GY to fuse proper, but it'd still be decent without Sequence.

The problem is it's a non-committal engine that forces an answer, and only imperm/roach really stops it. If it gets stopped, they can normal summon their actual starter instead. I have not once ever ashed tract and not eaten shit for it.

I've been running Kaijus recently, I know they're not great or meta defining but, in circumstances where Desirae with 2+ negates is up, you can just kaiju it, and if they activate in GY like idiots, they just target one of their own cards. Not that Kaijus are reliable, being mostly unsearchable, but running level specific Kaijus like turtle who is an 8 also comes with the perk that if you draw 2, you get a free body on field that can be used for synchro or link fodder, as in, starting your own fiendsmith lines without investing more than 3 cards from hand, let alone the combo in between. I don't disagree that the negate thing is fair, it does suck to deal with. However, alot of players tend to be greedy, and wait til there's multiple cards on field to negate, to make sure they get their value. Those are the kind of coin toss mistakes I enjoy taking advantage of. Opponent doesn't know that after I out his Desirae or force it's activation, I then activate my Engraver in hand teehee, all without a normal summon.

Can't you just save Ash for Lacrima after the Requiem? That uses their Requiem for the turn, leaves them with just Lacrima on field. Theoretically it's as simple as get another monster on the field and summon sequence, but then they have to invest their combo pieces to get to Desirae, and with less material because Lacrima doesn't send Engraver due to Ash Blossom.
I agree though, it is a very easy, small main deck package that is a bit too consistent for being at most 7 cards main deck. A bit pricey for the extra deck though, I'd say, that's where it's weakness is.
Fuck Primite though, that's real and fuck blue eyes players. Fuckers always start Roar/Load and then just normal summon the level 4 dragon every damn time.

Millennium is good in alot of non-locking synchro piles because it can easily field an 8, a 6, and can run doom dragon as another level 8. Genuinely one of the better engines to run in Centurion, as well.

Nu Centurion is fun because you can run Ghost Reaper with the Blue Eyes synchro level 12 against blue eyes players, and the best part is it's a target for Crimson Dragon on Auxila. Been a fan of using the Horus engine and Rainbow Bridge as support.

I haven't seen the support yet, but I used to be a big bug player. They aren't "bad" but they don't do anything notable, where in similar insect type decks you can run Ultimate Great Insect with a Beetrooper package which is far more consistent due to their link 2 only needing 2 generic bugs and giving and additional normal summon, and also has synergy with equipping insects as equip cards strangely enough.
I haven't found a consistent way to make insect synchros, alot of the good main deck insects will buglock you. Not to say it's impossible to play, just that it's more difficult to get out, slightly less consistent and for less of an impact on the board most of the time.

People were saying Super Poly is bad into Crystron, but it's actually quite powerful, especially if you can nab a search off the discard.
I keep reading that people say Maliss can shrug it off but I don't see how Maliss interacts with cards on the field. White Binder banishes from the GY and I don't care about a Schuberta effect.

The types of deck and how you constructed for a tournament environment are very different from what's actually able to thrive on the ladder. This is what makes untapped the better source for data and information, and you can accurately track how a deck should be built abd what actually does better on the ladder, rather than some meme list that was self reported on MDM at a supposed "Master 1 rank I swear" or a list designed specifically for a Bo3 tournament.

I'll try to cautiously see how the deck is being played for now. It seems the full support isn't here yet as some @ignister cards won't be arriving on the next pack... so it also depends on what people do to fill these slots. If we're using the mathmech package I'm out, I don't have that anything from that deck to mitigate the bleed of UR points and I'm not rolling for two archetypes. Of course it also depends if the deck is fun to play and whatnot. But I missed on snake eyes, didn't care about blue eyes, crystron, tenpai and any of these. Playing fiendsmith primite is the closest I've been to playing a competently put together meta deck and I'd like to stay at the top of the game for once. Jet is good, it opens up quite a few more plays, also, it's good discard fodder and it's lvl 8 so it meshes well with everything else. Your deck seems fine, though I'd take SP and the charmer out of the ED because you're dragon locked most of the time. Also, I'd recommend you run a third Spirit Dragon (because the most optimal board needs to use all 3) and Indigo-Eyes for OTKing or Lightstorm dragon in case you go second and need back row removal). If you feel you aren't drawing into the Blue-Eyes portion of your deck, you can add 1-2 Piri Reis to search for Sage.

In the TCG, Maliss mirrors are not so bad because the deck's interactions aren't particularly strong against itself. In the OCG, thanks to Apollo, the mirror is just about winning the dice roll.

Because you have no consistency and can only slot in 10 non-engine, it sucks at going second unless you forgo the handtraps and go full boardbreaker.
It may have gas for days, but the insect lock means it can't do a lot of things with all the resources it generates, if we don't get the SUDA support in this pack it's literally just gonna be atlas/stag sovereign/partisan (just as a massive beatstick)/cicada pass.
It can't play low to the ground, and thus it also dies hard to droll, maxx c and fuwalos (also shifter and lancea).
It genuinely can't run supplemental engines, rapier needs no monster (or only insects) on field to summon itself for free and set wind (ie no fiendsmith), evil seed isn't a starter because insects lack a jasmine (sometimes you literally can't even summon skeletal soldier, so it's not even good for link climbing and looping resonance either) and you do need the normal summon (so no adventure).
It's incredibly expensive in MD for some reason ($100 says rapier/rebellion end up being UR too), a lot of generic insect cards it needs ended up being legacy pack URs, and it's also taking only the best cards from ragnaraika, beetrooper and krawler, and those are mostly UR too.
The shortest combo is still 5 minutes long, not that you ever want to go for it, the suboptimal board is just cicada and scary moth.

I don't care about what terminology MDM uses. Tier 1 is just playable meta decks relevant in the format of which top decks are a small subset and usually constitutes 1 to 3 at most dominant decks. No it is good because it was designed and released during Mapiss/Rizzle format as a rogue option and we got it early. I has more extenders than blue eyes and can play around basically every hand trap in the game and set up a full board after nibiru'd. Ladder is not indicative of deck power, thoughever. You can literally fall up the ladder to diamond with any petdeck by winning the handtrap minigame. It's not really a source to be taken seriously, more like data that backs up mdm since mdm takes it's data from a smaller group of players with higher than average game knowledge, and then you can compare it to tcg or ocg to reach a more logical conclusion than using just ladder statistic, which again can be skewed by simple things like players quitting early

I hate the charmies because while Maxx C is a card that became busted due to the speed of the game, similar to floodgates, it is a very simple yet powerful effect from an era when it was more or less pot of greed.

The charmie family was created just recently and for "fixed" versions they suck for too many reasons, one reason being that the effect that shuffles down to "size" fixes your hand randomly but not your entire hand but the cards that you drew.
This is awful in paper and it got an implication that if you really need a board breaker it could be shuffled away.

I dislike the design of these cards.

The low impact handtraps do fuck all to Crystron unlike Voiceless if you sequence them wrong. Also you get half-boards if you do it right unlike Voiceless which just gets stopped outright. Cluster is a nasty card, yes. No arguments there. But still, the board isn't unbeatable and the followup can be underwhelming even though it is guaranteed depending on the game state. Which is also why it's hard to play against Crystron and people fuck it up. Voiceless followup and grind is extremely strong in comparison. I've mained both these decks, and Crystron is undoubtedly better, but it's definitely not better than fucking Snake Eyes and not better than Blue Eyes (in MD only) niggers are smoking crack thinking Crystron is even close to Snake Eyes level.
