Considering the game seems to be about fate, I'm guessing the "There's only one ending...?" is a cheeky reference towards that. Like yeah the ending of the prophecy is set in stone, but everything that surrounds that ending, including what can come after, is in flux

There is a 50% chance these are the actual heroes of the prophecy.
The first hero is obviously being set up to not be Kris, it's probably the vessel you make at the beginning of the game.
The second hero is Noelle, not Susie. Susie is the dragon in LotH/DB, who in the original prophecy is "and then there was the girl/at last, there was the girl," who is separate from the second hero.
The third hero is the lonely prince, who still doesn't look like Ralsei. It made sense for Ralsei's summary to obfuscate his appearance since we still hadn't seen what he looked like yet, but Toby's still doing it, which means it isn't Ralsei. It's some other dark prince and Lancer's our only candidate at the moment.

But we're going to find ways around it. I expect 4 at least:
