They don't do them anymore but quartertothree had a good run. I liked them because even if I disagreed with a review, reading the review explains exactly why they scored it like they did and because metacritic translated the it's shit/didn't like it/it's okay/liked it/it's great scores as 1 through 5 so you'd get fanboys showing up raging in comments for big games because it appeared as a 40 on metacric and that was always hilarious.

Gameranx is pretty good. One of the only reviewers I watch.

One of the issues is that most mainstream sites use freelancers, so quality varies wildly. Isn't enough incentive to write as an adult to actually make money. That's why youtube personalities are better, but finding them without getting alhorithm filtered is hard.

If the game is mocked it's gonna be shit. If it's discussed alot it's probably good or at least decent. Reviewers, youtubers and ecelebs all have incentives to lie, shill, omit important problems. The most real reviews are the ones who have committed 3-4 figures of hours on the game (unless they bs like have the game running in the background). When you can filter shitposting and bad players, you can find some legit reviews here from someone decent.

Half the cost are strong women lacking any femininity, the most prominent male besides Jin himself is Taka who is presented as a pathetic bitch boy, there is a story mission halfway through where you find out an elderly widow of a samurai (who can take on multiple mongolians herself somehow) was secretly in a lesbian relationship with a maid and Jin is completely accepting of this despite the era and place it takes place in...it wasn't as overt as other games, but it was still there.
