>>714242937I hesitate saying this, but I know it's better that I do; games USED to genuinely be designed with REAL ARTISTS. Nevermind all the arguments about "pixel this" and "resolution that," what you see displayed on your television used to have a much higher artistic standard. People developed games to look presentable. To look like provoking characters. To look like infatuating scenery. And they hired, and paid, people to do it.
So many "re-"whatevers destroy that, and too many people (so desperate to be a part of what made so many games so popular, but where "late" to ever playing) simply cannot notice. And... the result isn't the same anymore. Recognizable to the people who played such originals, but unfathomable to those who didn't.
And 2025's culture is enthralled with screaming and shouting in cowardice rather than try something else.
