I bought it on launch and really liked it, looped like 4 times, found almost all of the dungeons and secrets.
It's not as good as DD:DA, but it's still a pretty enjoyable action adventure.

Wow it had THREE quests that are decent!

You do realize the Unmoored world alone has a couple quests as action packed and cool as those right? The incursion in Battahl and saving the Elven Settlement are about as fun as the Goblin Keep or Salvation forts and The Griffin Hunt mission CAN be kino or you can just use a periapt and instagib it before it can flee or while it's rampaging or whatever else. The Gigantus mission is easily a peer to the Griffin Hunt. Superior even since there's failstates and varying outcomes.

Sadly no. I gave it another try last week and still couldn't bring myself to keep playing, my final cope for it is the DLC.
If you really want to play it go with the first game, this one is essentially a side grade, some things are improved, others are much worse. Performance is still ass. Most I would pay for it currently would be $10.

I'll give you a real answer instead of the bait that /v/ is so known for OP. In some ways yes the game is a downgrade from the original that part is true but the QoL improvements for the gameplay make it more enjoyable overall to play. Stamina regens faster both in and out of combat. You no longer have to chug restorative potions like in the first game if you want to climb a monster. The world is much more enjoyable to explore and the auto clambering system works great. Pawn AI is much improved and they no longer say things like "wolves hunt in packs" 400 times in a row.

There's still the jank and shitty fetch quests the first game was known for and the story is as forgettable as can be but the game still provides a unique gameplay loop that no other game has even come close to replicating. If you like the first game then you'll like the second and you'll get at least 30 hours of content if you even just slightly scratch the surface.

I got a 6600xt and a ryzen 7 3700x. Playing the game at 1080p and on medium-ish settings I get a locked 60 fps out in the open world and in dungeons 90+. You would be more then fine anon.

The game was pretty obviously rushed. Either that or they thought they were streamlining the customization by giving players less to work with. IIRC gloves were no longer gear you could select/swap out. They also simplified the pawn rating system to just a thumbs-up/thumbs-down instead of the more specific ratings you could give them in DD1.

This for the quality of life, newer graphics, one of the coolest character creators I've seen in a long time (though hands not scaling to size and human ears on cats really bother me, oh and if I remember correctly you have to use a preset then work off of it, and only a few of them are usable for a traditionally pretty/handsome face, meaning every pawn tends to look the same). Boob slider is a nice touch.

Unfortunately, I still think DD:DA is a better game overall. Travelling the overworld in 2 is cool at first, but it's 90% goblins and saurians and it gets old fast. I'm not sure the pawn AI is much better, in fact I feel like they streamlined the pawn learning mechanics and they no longer do the sillier shit like playing catch with a rabbit, or swinging wildly on the chained meat.
I wish they had more budget, more time, added more monster types and patrolling enemies/something like A-Life. Also no BBI is a shame.
