Ace Swimmer does not want to pass over from my Yakumo to Neptilius. Breeding isn’t having any success either. I have Neptilius with Swift, Sleek Stroke and King of the Waves but no Ace Swimmer yet. Also gotten Vampiric, Heart of the Mountain, Remarkable Craftsmanship and Demon God Neptilius through my currently running breeding, but still haven’t gotten Ace Swimmer.

There is still a big gap between them by sheer stats alone, but it isn't as massive as before the boost.

Every pal has its own friendship boost multiplier for each stat. Weaker pals have a higher multiplier. You can look them up on paldb. I think something people are overlooking is the massive speed buff given to pals that do x% more elemental damage when mounted. It's actually possible to dodge and kite with them so you won't instantly melt in higher level combat

West of the Small Settlement past the bridge and to the left there's a flat peninsula place with shitloads of ore and wood. Perfect base location to set up.
Or continue past the starting area and the first tower, a 2nd base behind the church is always nice, lots of ore and mushrooms there.
Move to either of these, rip up your starter base and place it in the desert on the spot that has like 6 coal nodes.

Are you trying to get more pal spheres? Squirrels will help also looting high level junk piles and doing expeditions. If you still need low level ones a Vixy can produce them, at max condensation Vixy can sometimes give up to Hyper spheres.

As for electricity the usually pick at high levels is Orserk which can be found rarely in the wildlife sanctuary northeast of the desert, Helzephyr Lux on Sakurajima is also a decent pick, with one less electricity level but doesn't need nocturnal if you want to generate electricity at night.

Don't forget to upgrade electricity in the research center too that helps a lot

Just to drop my 2 cents. I raised the drop values of my game world with the customization menu before loading. There's zero shame in reducing the material grind, and it really helps to lower the necessary amount of farming for ore, coal and such. You can also increase drop rates if I recall correctly, so enemies drop more pal balls, ect.
Dunno if you care about the vanilla experience, but I believe games are meant to be fun, and if the game allows me to just slide the horrible grind away, I'd be a fool not to do so.

I'd pick a flatter area for your first base. If you look around, you shouldn't have to look far to see wide open patches of nearly perfectly flat dirt. This will give you more room to set up the necessary facilities
Try and get a rough feel for how big a pal's hitbox is, and leave them that much room to get around. If you can avoid obstructing their pathing, they'll find their way to stuff (particularly the feed box) much easier
You'll naturally get better ways of managing pal sanity as you go along, so don't stress too much for now. You're the best worker early on, but your pals will start to take over for you as you level and get some good handiwork ones (Wixen is a very good early choice at around level 20, if you ford your way northeast as you explore you'll probably eventually find the lava area they hang out in)
The boss Chillet you fight early on is a fantastic early swimmer to help you get between islands
Don't be ashamed of spending your money on ingredients to make a ton of good food. Lamball/Chikipi + Berries is a good early food until you get some real good farms set up.
Having said that, you can just eat small food yourself, since neither you nor pals in your party have a sanity value. Assigning a Chikipi to a ranch and just cooking the eggs sorts out your own food situation basically just like that

trying to save a little bit of space, theres not really a reason to keep pal sphere and weapon production lines around. you only make a weapon once and the ammo can be crafted at the regular production line, depending on what you want to to with them spheres are also plenty to be found in the world so crafting them seems less important now. chests can be build on top of each other and still be accessed by pals and a lof of stations can be build quite a bit outside the base circle

The game mixed together good concepts, but everything is very bare bones. Palbox is way too small, should be 4-8x bigger so you don't need to download palbox mod for better breeding. The area you can build base around palbox should also be like much bigger. Everything in this game, other than the pals itself and the gym leaders, screams "asset flip", from very poorly disappearing/reapping trees, poor textures, poor optimization on a server with more bases/complex bases etc. Just look at PS5/Pro comparisons of this game and compare to PC version. The PS5 Pro version apparently has terrible trees according to some youtuber, and textures are also very terrible, but when you look what the game looks on PC it's really not significantly better. Basically the devs got some good ideas with this game, but they didn't put much effort on polishing it, which is why it feels soulless in many places. Aniimo might legitimately offer real threat to this game, since it's free to play (and maybe not even gacha game?), seems to have more polish in the "non-pal" areas than Palworld, gameplay/combat also looks like it could be better than Palworld (more Monster Hunter-like, less like a Fortnite that Palworld is). Palworld has very fucking bad multiplayer it's almost impossible to play with randos due to trust issues alone (are they gonna steal your base items/pals?) there are no real ways to set so that items and pals are individualized, what good is it breeding strong pals if someone is just gonna borrow your pal from palbox and not return it? Aniimo looks like it will have much better multiplayer than Palworld, because multiplayer is one area where Palworld severely drops the ball on all accounts.

Really enjoying thinking about the moral decay I went through playing this game. I went from being unsettled with the idea I even had the option to butcher and condense my Pals to forcibly transgendering Pals and turning them into breeding sows.

A couple other tips
Nut up and build a big box. You waste so much floor space with redundant piles of trash your pals scoop up. Plop a small one down next to certain work stations, maybe have a few specialty boxes holding specific types of valuables like skill fruit, but then have one or two larger chests that holds everything else. I see small boxes, wasting 4 of their slots on wood, fiber, stone, and paldium so fucking often, it's unreal. Also, use fucking box exclusions.
Delete your old crafting benches at some point. Especially for first or second bases, I see those fukkin basic workbenches smack dab in the middle of good floorspace, clogging everything up.
I'd say, if you're looking to build a third base, and still have your first, before you build a third, put all the shit from that first base in a box or two, tear the whole thing down, and build it again from scratch. That first base was made with shit planning, and you fucking know it. You were cramped, threw big buildings off in the corner, that expanded and now they're taking up prime real estate, and have gotten so used to where things are you're probably glossing over what an absolute clusterfuck it is. No, that field of workbenches weaved between farms is not organized, you're just accustomed to the madness. Tear it down, build it back up from scratch, and if you can't think of a good reason to rebuild it where it is, fucking move it. That base cramped on the fucking cliff in the first island is not helping you, you deserve better.
If you're building a structure abomination to smooth over undesirable parts of the terrain, or bridge over otherwise impassable terrain for pals, consider putting beds there. Beds work well in pathing clusterfucks, because pals don't really *need* them, and that area is going to look weird as fuck anyways, and any larger structures are probably gonna have a seizure over the strange dimensions, flooring, ect anyways.

Yes, because they all copy fortnite, and I think why it feels like that in Palworld is beacuse it's gameplay that's embedded within unreal engine as default, and the developer did not take any time to change it. Let me tell you, before fortnite existed, the third person shooters like Rainbow Six Vegas or Ghost Recon Phantoms, did not in-fact play anything like fast action slop that fortnite is. What developer did here is they took an engine that is easy to push stuff out with, without creating individuality to the game, unique mechanics to combat.. basically they didn't change enough settings to give the game enough of different feel to not be mistaken from fortnite combat.

Trust issues with randoms in multiplayer is a people problem not exclusive to Palworld. Some servers like officials are wild west with cheaters, some like the better dedicateds are more civil and you won't need to worry as much if you have basic interpersonal skills.
