Whether you pay the company 60 moneys in the form of an up-front payment or 5-5000 moneys in the form of microtransactions shoud not make a drastic difference. If you break your bank to fine tune your waifu in a gachaslop game, you should absolutely have access to your waifu even if the service shuts down.

That's a good question regarding F2P games. Generally speaking I wouldn't think that an online F2P game would need to be made available after service termination, if you downloaded something for free then I would guess you would not have the same rights of ownership you do when you purchased a product (game in this case). Still I know people spend money on these games anyway so it'd be interesting to see how such cases would be handled, would paying money for in-game benefits in an otherwise free title imply you get any sort of ownership rights? Maybe or maybe not.
