Sure but for the jokes about being an auto-battle sim the auto-battle takes pretty much all of the grind away from the game. I also find relics to be not worse to grind for in HSR simply because of that and not having as many limitations on creating relics. Mind both aren't great and have terrible RNG.

The big thing that really made me fucking hate Genshin though is how limited the character building is. Level up mats being tied to days of the week desperately needs to be removed, as does the weekly boss mats which make it feel like I need a month min before I can even play a new character. Then you have the limit to gathering mats that you have to wait for 3 days unless you can get into someone else's world. But THE WORST for me is the enemy mats. I DREAD having to spend hours grinding overworld enemies to level characters. HSR largely circumvents this by just letting you get those through expeditions at least.

this is only the beginning, hsr's relic system further piles on the shittiness of its system with other garbage like having more substats (12 vs 10 in genshin), more useless substats (effect resist, effect hit rate and break effect are utterly useless on 90% of the roster, while energy regen is at least useful on a good portion of the genshin cast) and horrible mainstat droprates on planars (there is ONE MAINSTAT FOR EVERY ELEMENT IN HSR instead of just elemental dmg boost, it's fire/ice/lightning/quantum/wind etc., energy regen ropes which almost all supports want are extremely rare)

the worst part of hsr's relic system is that it's so godawful that hoyo has capitalized on it and hsr is the only hoyo game that SELLS RELIC SELECTORS IN THE CASH SHOP. yes, for the low low price of ~1 paid roll worth of currency, you too can buy up to 12 relic selectors every patch and whale for gear while the f2p poors are stuck wasting their stamina farming endless piles of garbage
