Also, all Offbrand does is some marketing and esports. The game is live service, but it's only live service because the first Rivals of Aether was supported by Aether Studios for so long and updated so frequently with new characters, stages, features, and cosmetics that they decided to build the game for frequent updates and a lot of optional cosmetic content from the ground up.
