It's one of my favorite Metroidvanias. I thought the level design and bosses were great, soundtrack was awesome, and I was fine with the artstyle. But I know it's a dealbreaker for some people. Particularly, having your main sidekick be a half-naked "flat" fairy makes it hard to recommend. But I think it's good enough to look past the art even if you're not a fan, as long as it doesn't offend you or something.

Great question. I checked just for you and no, you can't toggle them off. I think they're fairly unintrusive though and they help you keep track of when DoTs like poison or bleed are working or allow you to confirm kills [red hitmarker for kills] so you don't waste ammo shooting a monster that's already dead.

Is a bit weird though, you can disable pretty much anything other than that. Couldn't find a mod for it either. Tbh fuck you for pointing this out lol, I can't unnotice that and it'll bug me a little bit lol

Vanquish is okay but kind of underwhelming. I thought the scoring system was at odds with the gameplay mechanics, which are built around taking your time and doing what you want. The game gives you a fork and wants to judge your soup-tasting skills, basically. If you can ignore the score stuff and embrace the cheesiness, it's a decent little experience. It's absolutely fantastic. IDC what anyone says about marketplace. It's the first time in a while I got the feels, and you'll see why. Also, the QTE timing stuff isn't bad at all - most people on /v/ will figure out 80% of the patterns easily. Just make sure you build your character not to die in one or 2 hits (like I did early on).

The single player games forcing hitmarkers is such a pet peeve of mine. The original hitmarker is blood or the animation of the enemy being hit. Not like I'm speedrunning the game I don't need maximum efficiency. I kinda like that I might waste a bullet or two on an enemy who is dead. It's called dead-checking and it's cool.

Lemme say one more thing before I try to stop shilling: The Wicked Isle DLC is pretty dank and it weaves itself into the main game very very gracefully. I actually stumbled into it blindly in my first 3 hours. It's accessible from the start of the game and it adds a new area [there's about 5 in the base experience] but the new zone is quite dense and cool. It has objectives that take you back to the main world as well as quests that can affect the main quest and base game characters or even lead to a new ending. I'd say it's worthwhile and the only criticism I can give it is that it's so well integrated into the game [aside from taking place on an island that doesn't connect to the other areas] that it feels like cut content more than an "addition" or "expansion".

I described it poorly. It's to do with the 'Complete Your Collection' bundle discounts.

eg. my wishlist currently lists FMF at $14.49. If I add it to cart directly from the wishlist, it's added at that price.

escape from tarkov is this idea taken to the extreme.
not as a replacement for mindless looter shooters but if you get dopamine hits from shooting stuff and looting stuff and slowly progressing toward shooting stuff with stronger guns...that's the entire concept. except like a dozen other players are in the map with you trying to do the same.

I had a good time with Cyberpunk, just don't go in expecting serious depth in gameplay or storytelling. Golden Light is great, but also deliberately obtuse, cryptic and frustrating so keep that in mind. I think you can also get it very cheap on keysites. personally i was completely fatigued from boss rollslop and i hated every single boss in the dlc. its all delayed attacks 3 minute combos bullshit amped up to 11. thats why i was doing op bleed curved sword jump attack build so i didnt have to do any boss mechanics, they just die too fast.

i did enjoy the legacy dungeons very much so i just rushed those and took my time there instead.

what really sucked about the dlc was its forced exploration. you have to collect scadutree fragments to not suck ass in the shadowlands but there are exactly enough scadutree fragments to reach max shadow level, forcing you to explore every fucking nook and cranny. world feels a lot emptier than base game and exploration is rarely rewarded outside of scadu fragments.

No. I simply believe in paying what a game is worth. The better the game, the lesser discount I will want or need. I didn't grab Atomfall at launch but it was on my Radar and since I finished with obsessively playing Nightreign I checked the sale to see if any wishlist items were discounted.
