i'm going to assume its like the first game where they're generally useless due to the terrain anyway and you mainly use them for transporting 9 million tons of metal to the auto pavers.

Opposite lol. Maps are flat so vehicles trivializes the game. You don't even need to walk. Truck even has launchers that automatically takes dropped cargo back.

I avoid using vehicles in the first game. Usually I’ll jump on a truck, drive to the closest point on the road to the destination, and then just walk the rest of the way. Building roads is fun though, it appeals to my autism
Anonymous No.714448614 [Report]
>>714445370
This is true. Unfortunately playing without vehicles doesn’t fix the game. It just makes the game slower and take longer while you run up gentle slopes instead of quickly driving up them.

But here's the neat part, the auto targeting parts are TRASH!! I just got a fucking B on Peko's fragile package retrieval order, and the god damn cannon quickly hoovered it up and rammed it right into the crevasse that it was wedged in.

The auto machine-guns are totally unusable for no-kill runs also. These too also can't be disabled. It's schwarbage.

doesn't solve a single thing since there's no challenging terrain either way. the only difference it will make is that getting to your goal takes 3 times as long and yet you're still just going to hold forward the whole time. death stranding was not a walking simulator in the derogatory sense, but death stranding 2 very much is.
Anonymous No.714449505 [Report] >>714450370
I can’t not use a vehicle if the terrain is flat. I don’t go crazy with the boost mode on the trike though
Anonymous No.714450370 [Report] >>714451045
>>714449505
I aim for rough terrain and abuse the fucking shit out of the vehicles at times. Actually they're quite incredible and less prone to shitting themselves and forcing loss of input like the first game. I was driving horizontally up the mountain near by the Dowser just today until I finally hit the limit and the van seized up, forcing a downward backslide for a hot second. That bitch was looking straight up though and nearly made the peak, I tell you what.

Anyone else get that electric motor freakout in D1 when you try to jam it up a steep hill? So far that shit isn't there.

BTW auto driving is pointless and fucks up hitting packages if you're not paying attention.

Whats the meta for getting up mountains with "big loads"?

Can't climb with your floaty trays and you can't drive a vehicle up it.
Anonymous No.714452307 [Report]
>>714452220
I haven't gotten to the mountain yet but I try to aim for rocky terrain with the vehicles and give them something to stairstep their way up that mountain. I doubt it's efficient but it's possible for me to do it in the lowlands.

One Floating Carrier and slowly climb ladders or go down ropes. You eventually get spiked tires for your truck which makes a great difference.

The first game had no challenge and it was a balance on rough terrain simulator. It was fun for its novelty, but DS2 somehow managed to bring any hardships to minus one so it's just boring as fuck.
Maybe this is what Kojima was talking about when he said he made the game worse. I never had issues to cross any terrain, never had to use stairs and ropes. The terrain is super flat compared to the first game, driving vehicles was a nightmare in DS1 because not only their battery was incredibly short, it was like they were made of paper and would bump on ANYTHING and there were multiple places that forced you to abandon those. The rain is also a no-issue and you will only let it damage the cargo if you are a fucking moron. It's too easy and you won't need to use none of the constructs except for the bridge.

The only annoying shit is gathering 999999 ceramics to rebuild the roads. You will never, EVER run out of metal or any other material, but you will need to raid enemy bases and take ceramics from every single place if you want to finish the damn roads.

That's Kojima kino, bro. You’re not meant to get it, you’re meant to feel vaguely uncomfortable while Norman Reedus awkwardly mumbles next to a girl who looks like she walked out of a perfume ad. Their bond is forged in the silence, in the grains of sand passed under foot while lugging around 15 crates of expired Cheez-Its. True love.

i said the same about DS1
1. play on hard mode (very hard is the same as hard just more repair cans for cargo no reason to play it on very hard)
2. no vehicles (forces you to deal with the enviornment)
3. no roads (same as point 2)
4. no internet play offline (forces you to build and suffer the world)
5. walk through BT, mule and terrorist areas if they are on route to your delivery (creates action carry weapons and stealth)
6. take a different route every time you deliver

that is peak death stranding im waiting for the PC port its going to be fun i can already tell

Kojima caved in and heavily streamlined and casualized rhe sequel. The signs were there in the Director's Cut of DS1 that added things that let players engage less with the core mechanics

Death Stranding was always piss easy and never took full advantage of the open world being an obstacle for the player to overcome. It and 2 are games you play for comfiness and delivery autism, nothing more.

Wut?

In DS1 you could fucking drive into a wall with a fully loaded trike and nothing would happen. You can't do that anymore in DS2, because all of your cargo would be (severely) damaged.

Neither game is hard in any case. They are just narrative heavy sand box games.
