Why do people who don't use Linux care that I play video games on Linux? If Windows is so great then you have nothing to be butthurt about.

Because you're one of about 10 people total that plays games on Linux, and you can't play the majority of games without serious bugs or glitches. Linux still uses a command line because they're stuck in the 90s, everything is either disjointed and problematic, or it's overcentralized and unstrustworthy (the entire OS relies on SystemD to even function properly). Mac just works but you need special hardware that doesn't just work. Windows just works period.

Both of those claims are extremely exaggerated but I'm still not seeing a reason that you personally should give a shit about what I do on my computer.
>Linux still uses a command line
Windows has one too. Can you give me an example of a task that actually requires a command line on Linux Mint?

Installing, updating or fixing drivers, which you will have to do all the time because Linux drivers are hot garbage. You can't even use Linux with an Nvidia graphics card because the drivers conflict with the entire kernel.

Already installed for AMD (and Mint has a GUI for managing proprietary e.g. Nvidia drivers too, not that I've ever used it).

All of my updates come through the Update Manager GUI, so no command-line needed.

Nothing wrong with gaming on Linux, literally does work on my machine. Out of all the games I've tried only a couple have problems and there is usually a fix for them.

Only game I'm having problems with is The Division 2 which crashes after 10mins or so.

Not really. Despite all of the people who think "OMG LINUX SUCKS IT CAN'T EVEN DO THIS SIMPLE THING" is an effective way to ask for help, these are the same people who end up thinking that Linux users are elitist and never help anyone, because it doesn't actually work. You get much better results if you just ask nicely (and do it somewhere other than /g/), because the internet is full of Linux users who want more people to use Linux for some reason and will bend over backwards to make sure new users get what they need.

I'm gonna use this thread to ask.
I am going to switch to linux this weekend but I want to transfer all my browser stuff, how do I do that?

You can use lutris and add the game to your library using wine to play it. Not pirated anything but with Lutris you can add games, just set the folder the game is in, set where the exec is and then set which runner to use (wine or Proton).
Anonymous No.714504185 [Report] >>714504483
>>714503795
Don't browsers usually have a way to export and import that stuff? It would vary by browser, surely. So do that, and hope the browser's developers were not so fucking obnoxious as to use different export formats for Windows and Linux.
If the Brave/Librewolf developers are not cunts, then this is a Brave/Librewolf question and not a Linux question.

>tabs
You mean you just never close web pages...?
Maybe just bookmark all open tabs, export the bookmarks, and then open the bookmarks after you import them on the new OS.
Whether there's a better way to do what you want is still more of a browser question than an OS question. You're right that copying the browser's entire configuration file structure PROBABLY won't work, because that is something that may differ by OS version, so either the browser has a feature to export tabs or it doesn't.

Then it would be broken for them by default.
If the OpenGL version crashes for you, then maybe some bug needs to be fixed, but in theory it supports both OpenGL and Vulkan, and practically every GPU supports OpenGL but not every GPU supports Vulkan — so OpenGL makes more sense as a default renderer, at least on paper.

Their perception of Linux as difficult to use, combined with the expectation that every post on 4chan is some kind of argument, they interpret "I use Linux btw" as code for "haha you're too stupid to use Linux", and thus merely seeing a screenshot of a Linux desktop or a cute render of Tux the penguin makes them feel as if they're under attack.
