Story maps are so easy they might as well be autobattlers. Challenges and raids require you to actually use skills with proper timing, sequence etc and build teams to get good scores.
Tbh biggest value in this game is story. It reads like good, comfy anime most of the time with serious part here and there. Think of Mitsudomoe.

Supports are the most valuable as you use them in almost every raid. Also due to mechanics of this game you can't just pull for 1-2 students that will carry you in all content. All gachas are long-term resource management simulators. After some time it won't matter much what was your start as you will get dupes, more and more useful students. Statistics drag everything to average. Also most starting students are farmable by now, though it takes time. So you either roll for who you like, or for Shun since she has been used in almost every PvP run since launch, and being in top 100 in your bracket gives you like 30 gems daily. It adds up over time. If you are sweaty and are willing to reroll for more time, Shun + either Aru or Iori would be best.

Everything besides Shun is farmable in newcutie banner and besides that you're better off saving your gems on upcoming fest where rates will be doubled and anni/half anni characters are available. Anni characters like Mika, Wakamo, Nagisa etc. This time it will be Neru and Rio as new ones and summer Hanako rerun on one banner. You also get 100 free rolls on Asuna and Seia banner. Sparking costs 200, meaning if you roll 200 times, you can just pick student of choice from banner, no matter whether you rolled them or not before.

I don't get the big deal with rerolling. Mutsuki and Hibiki carried me up to level 60.

Did a quick test to check optimization. Idle main menu runs 1100-1300fps. A random PvP match meanwhile sinks to 250-400. Both being heavy cases of CPU bottleneck, the main menu less so (obv).
Tested was on a 7950X3D+4090, as seen in the top left.
