I plan to keep using my phone but the free shit is cool

Word of advice for newbies: Shun (panda? Onee-san with sniper) is the ONLY 3* that matters from the tutorial pull. All the others are either outright free, grindable or can be bought from shops. Shun is useful for newfags and is also good for those who want to get into pvp down the line.
That is to say, if you really like any of the tutorial 3* but also wanna metafag (not worth it imo), then just reroll until you get the one you like + Shun and keep moving.

I'd honestly recommend Hibiki over Shun. Yeah Shun's mandatory for PvP, but what the fuck does being top 500 matter for a new player? Hibiki will carry you through missions for a long fucking time, and she recently got buffed. And while she's farmable, it's not until you're well along that you'll be able to, plus it'll take months on its own.

Hibiki is great as well, but I find Shun is slightly more useful because she can be splashed into any team for an instant boost to cost, which is always useful in missions and even raids, and later is good for pvp. Also Shun is not farmable currently, and reds already have a bunch of good AoEs, while Shun's ability is unique.

Got me playing again. Played it last summer for 3 months and did all the story but I kinda hated doing mission mode. Now they have a simple mode for missions and I blasted through a bunch of stages and it felt good. Everything loading lightning fast and running smooth because it's not on some piece of shit emulator is a big plus. I even tossed them a few bucks and got the monthly and two week packs.
