Don't stress about crafting pal spheres, pump your first level ups into weight and stamina, they will help tremendously.

When you use the grapple gun on a wall, release with B and keep the movement stick to the opposite direction of the wall when you are about to hit it to get propelled vertically, this will help you to get to high places easily, if you grapple to the floor and jump before hitting the floor you will also get propelled at high speed while gliding, this will help you to get to distant places very fast, just be aware of your stamina because the fall damage can kill you.

There's basically two types of enemies, typeless and elemental. Pal bosses are elemental, and humans are typeless. Against Pals, you always want to use whatever is strong obviously. Normal isn't strong against anything. This is the argument you're making, anon. Base management is a core part of the gameplay balance and mechanics, making a breeding farm that's efficient is an extension of that concept. In order to do that you have to make sacrifices in other areas and dedicate resources specifically to it, you might even have to choose a less opportune base location or waste an entire base slot slowing down your other passive resource gathering.
If you don't want to do that stuff, that's fine. The game gives you multiple paths to ignore it if you want, but you are undeniably choosing the easy mode and not engaging with the intended game balance in the same way that upping your damage to x8 and making Pals take x8 more damage is going to change your entire perception and experience of the combat balance.

I let pals passively mine, while I go out and catch new pals, because the most efficient way to level is to use the bonus experience for the first 12 pal catches.

I filled out my pal deck by being out in the world playing the game, because my base was managed efficiently. Your base only needs 9 working pals max. You can get by with fewer if you don't care about lumber or spoilage.

I am sitting here, at the end of the game, having already caught 12 of each pal directly to cap my level out. I have literally nothing to do except sit in my chair and watch my pals fuck so that I can make 155 Serene, Muscle-headed, Legendary Demon Gods.

72 hours is an objectively unreasonable timer for a solo world. That might be fine on a server, where the game continues running when you quit, but solo it's just a bad mechanic.

Whoever thought this was a good idea deserves to get slapped in the face, for a mostly single player game this has way too much waiting and grinding as well as rng elements so i dont blame people for tweaking the sliders. 10% Attack + 30% CD reduction, vs 20% Attack (Ferocious)
Serenity is a damage gain in an extended fight, as you can use long-cd abilities more frequently.
So, you might think that it's less favored in short fights.
But ask yourself, are there any short fights where that would matter?
Like, if a fight is short enough that the Serenity CD reduction doesn't matter, was that fight a threat to you in the first place? You probably nuked the thing and left. Under those circumstances, I don't think that the 10% difference between Serenity and Ferocious matters.
Whereas the potential time save from Serenity on a long fight could end the fight before you make a fuck up that kills you.

I hope they rebalance food at some point. Some ingredients are used in way too many good dishes while others you can't really use even if you want to. It's impossible to use up a supply of potatoes because they are never the bottleneck.

I think that's less about the production and more the fact that the experience curve hits a sharp incline around level 40. You're forced to spend so much time on everything beyond that point and you have access to so many efficient pals that this is where you start dumping your materials on min/maxing so even without autistic breeding you can still easily reach 100% or higher work speed increases with level 4 work suitability so while you're out capturing hundreds of pals and slaughtering criminals and zealots just to get a few levels your pals have spent all that time producing enough supplies for an army.

You can see them attempting to get around this with the way crude oil works but rather than bumping up production with pals people use unintended 2-4 extractor setups to massively inflate production rate so things end up right where they were before.

There's not much that can be done to make capturing more engaging unless they decide to restore health on each failure and that would piss a lot of people off because it would just drag out the process.

I do think there's far too much disparity between each sphere though. The starting spheres essentially become useless so they may as well not even exist and there's nothing interesting about any of them. They're just strict upgrades. I think instead of a capture RNG what should instead happen every time a thrown ball hits a pal it damages are second HP bar, or adds to a new counter.
Each ball does a basic damage and its scaled with normal multipliers like statues and enemy status. So each ball slowly chips away at their capture health and once its gone only then do they go into the ball. It still means your just spamming balls at a 1 hp foe, but this way you're still in battle with them the whole time.
I'm sure people will not like this though because they think the "ball shakes three times" thing is cool.

Two hours seems excessive. By the time you're able to get the materials to make a handgun you have easy access to numerous pals with Handicraft 3 and if you have a breeding ranch going you can easily get Handicraft 4.

Each point of work suitability is extremely important. A Handicraft 3 pal with no traits will still be much faster than Handicraft 2 with Artisan.

In my experience the Pals lighting things go into 'work in place' mode faster than any other.
Make sure to give the stairs a wide berth, including the ceiling. It should be at least two units up, but even then there's still going to be the awkward distance lighting. This pic is from my base in previous patch and it's pretty high up The pals will take the long path to build, but the fire ones just don't want to do it for lighting things.
It might be done this way so they can actually light things when it becomes dark out instead of taking 5 minutes to do it at which point night is halfway over or however long it is.

I think it changed a bit with this update, but basically.
When you breed pals, first the game looks at the traits of the parents. I dunno the rates, but, it will grab a trait from a parent some X% of the time.
If the same trait, or 2 different stages of the same trait (say, Hooligan and Musclehead) is grabbed twice, the game will reroll that trait in its entirety (so, breeding pals that both have a desired trait actually reduces the chance of that trait passing on, but increases the odds of getting random traits). I believe this also happens if a pal is chosen to inherit a trait, but has no more traits to transfer (either all of its traits have already been picked, or it has no traits)
If there are any empty slots after this, the pal rolls for traits like it normally would when generated.

Ideal conditions for breeding for a particular trait loadout are having 2 pals, with 2 traits that you want, each, and nothing else. That's a bit unreasonable though, especially now that "good enough" is a lot broader with respect to the table. Breeding for 2-3 traits, with the assurance of Aggressive or something being able to patch any issues is a HUGE boost to reliability. Probably the hardest sets to breed are for mount pals, since iirc, Nimble is the only movement speed trait you can table. Getting Legend, Swift, Runner, and, I dunno, King of the Waves or something, is a bastard still.

When Palworld was first announced i think everybody knew Craftopia was going to be left in the dirt. Craftopia was kind of interesting but i hated when they added that whole story mode world. This usually happens with starter bases.
Your starter base is small enough that stuff you place on the edge, ends up smack dab in the middle, which throws the area balance off. You also end up leaving old, useless benches, and boxes full of redundant stacks of rock, wood, fiber, and paldium wherever they were convenient.
You also get used to the madness, and start just intuitively knowing which of the 6 workbenches over there is which.
I always reccomend, when you're looking to make a third base, if you haven't already done so, tear down all/most of that first base, and start over. Put things where they belong, smooth over the unexpected terrain acquisitions, ect.

Base pals still seem to mostly get stuck around level 30, and get assraped once raids start scaling into the 40s and beyond.
Unless you feel like putting them in your party for a while to levek them, walls are really convenient for keeping your guys safe, making the raid bunch up in a corner, and then carpet bomb them and wipe everything out in like 10 seconds.
