Playing permadeath classic WoW.
Group are all Max level, 150 hour+ investment on all of the characters.
They are doing a max level dungeon, probably the most difficult one. Still very easy though.
Group grabbed the attention of too many monsters, they went down a bad route (down the middle, normally you go to the side), which caused multiple groups of monsters to link together.
Group needs to run away, they all will die.
Pirate is playing a Mage, Mages have an array of slowing spells that will help the entire group safely evacuate the dungeon.
Instead of helping the group evacuate, he sprints to the exit, leaving them all for dead.
He then argues with another group member while the group is trying to evacuate, and multiple members are dying, that he had no mana and couldn't help.
All of the mage spells that can help slow monsters do not cost any significant amount of mana, and he also had an entire mana bar of replenishment items ready.
If he had cast slow/binding spells at any point in time the entire group would have easily lived.
There is then a large argument where he refuses to admit he could have done anything differently.
It is somewhat acceptable that a noob wouldn't have saved the group there, but he constantly gassed himself up as a pro, and straight up has clips of him saying that a mage's job is to slow and control the monsters, and also berates other mages for not doing that in other situations.
