I am looking for a game where you can make a base and take it with you. I get this craving once in a while. Last time i got it and i looked into games i found Empyrion and man did i love that. Unfortunately, my friends are not into exploring the universe on a capital ship while having some other vehicles they can use to go explore with so i got bored of it. Any other thing like this? I was looking at forever skies but the reviews are keeping me from getting it.
Thought about the original Stalker games I don't have (Cop and CS) and you can't get them now? Been replaced with shitty remasters at a much higher price.

>>714601876Deals are fine so long as you aren't retarded enough to shop on Steam. Everything is minimum 30% cheaper if you buy Steam keys from even official resellers. Why? Steam publishing agreement doesn't require the 30% profit share with Valve if you sell the key outside of Steam. Developers are free to generate an unlimited number of steam keys for their games to sell on official storefronts. Imaging inbred enough to shop "sales" on Steam.

anything else I should get?
I bought this game on sale over 2 weeks ago and forgot to play it. Now I learn the devs are fags and I cant get rid of this stink from my account. Is it really as bad as /v/ says it is?
repostan question
any games that give you the feeling of going down a rabbithole? like, not necessarily something with an ARG or an outright conspiracy thriller like MGS
but where your understanding of the game's world or story suddenly expands and your stomach sinks and butthole clenches because you get that sensation that something 'isnt right', ESPECIALLY in a creepy way
example would be like in Inscryption when it goes from Act 1 to Act 2 and when you find the ID in the wizard tower
or subnautica where you come across the island
to an extent something like undertale/deltarune before the genocide/snowgrave routes were widely known and talked about openly
maybe like Portal or the movie 'Cube' where protagonists start in clean test chambers and slowly learn that they are in a creepy decaying megastructure whose purpose is not really understood and can only try to glean minor meaning from things others have left behind as they trudge hopelessly deeper into the bowels of the thing, groping blindly for an exit. for portal it would be like seeing the wall jammed with the companion cube and revealing one of the ratman's nooks or when you enter the part with the offices and can look through the windows to see stuff about black mesa
specific cube scenes like learning that the prime number method used for determining if a room is trapped is incorrect and the real formula implies that the structure is deeply larger than they first estimated or when they enter a room only to find rennes' corpse and realize the rooms are shuffling
or the intro to the movie 'beyond the black rainbow' or some other early analog horror/documentary where you watch what is purported to be some obscure, lost media like a commercial for some new age science movement from the 70s, whose offices turn out to contain a secret underground complex that is housing [REDACTED]

>>714606373Stop getting ragebaited into hating stuff and go play the game. Its an ok zelda like game. If you wouldn't live your live on twitter or /v/ you would probably have more fun with your purchases.
>>714606163>is that a good indication for getting the DLC?Probably, but you can wait until it is on sale. You might be a bit tired of the game when reaching the end. Especially after the last boss.
Roottrees are Dead is great. Good haul

>>714606820what kinda game do you like?
>loot river
topdown action roguelike with a platform gimmick in which you use floor blocks to navigate the room, resolve puzzles, take advantage of space for combat and whotnot
>odallus: the dark call
castlevania clone but actually use stages instead of a connected world. kinda has permadeath if you run out of consumable continues in game.
uses a 4:3 aspect ratio but uses the blackbars for information, like an expanded hud
>swordship
pacifist arcade game. you have to make the enemies make mistakes to damage and eliminate each other
>9 kings
tower defense with roguelike mechanics kind of justified in game.
there are 9 kings. you choose one deck and have to make war with the other eight ones. the king you go to battle against in that turn determines the deck you are getting a new card from to choose to play on your next turn. cards can be units, towers, terrains that buff adjacent plots and buffs for units.
so you need to choose carefully which kings you wanna keep making war against to mantain access to their decks and make peace with the ones that are strong against your build or can't offer anything from their decks anymore.
there is also a base card that is different in each deck and you can control it manually.
gameplay is very simple and very addictive, design is nice on the cards and serviceble on the grid and battles.

It is highlighting how they have troubles with things like hypotheticals because their perception of the world is more internalized and self centred, for lack of a better term.

>>714605957They make the same amount of money or less. Valve is not going to let themselves be cut out, they own the fucking platform lol.
But what is different when you buy from a key site, legit or not, is that while the game is going to be slightly cheaper you are truly giving money to a pure extractive middleman.
Valve actually does a fair bit for the PC gaming ecosystem, including shipping truly epochal projects like the Deck.
still as good as it was 12 years ago

>>714620775They sell a decent sized basegame for extremely cheap so you can try the game out, then their updates for the rest of time are all included in a very cheap one time purchase. The game has like 600-700 songs now for that price, that is absurdly generous for a rhythm game. That's the opposite of a scam.
>>714620470Ah, what the hell:
Acre Crisis
Among Ashes
Dead of Darkness
Evil Tonight
The Fear Business
Fear the Spotlight
Fobia St. Difna Hotel
Hollowbody
Lunar Eclipse
Lamentum
Last Half of Darkness
Midnight Special
The Mute House
Suffer the Night
Vaccine Rebirth
You Will Die Here Tonight
Yuppie Psycho
Zero Protocol
Ghost at the Dawn is probably the scariest of those listed, and it's actually getting a sequel. Does scariest mean best? Who knows. Acre Crisis is pretty darn difficult. Is hardest the best? Who knows? Lunar Eclipse has the most attractive female protagonist. Is prettiest the best? who knows? Vaccine Rebirth is very underrated and has a very unique gameplay element sort of unseen in the survival horror genre. Is originality the best? who knows. The Mute house has a game length puzzle with no handholding and if you don't realize you are supposed to be paying attention, you're so fucked when you get to the end. Suffer the Night was also pretty scary, actually, but I didn't like the invisible enemies. I've never liked invisible enemies! not now, not in daymare 1994, not ever.
I already played vidya all day, recommend me a movie to watch tonight, something released in 2024/2025
>>714620724You could double check if they have demos or pirate them if it's easy. Or you could say the games you're looking at here to get some more advice before pulling the trigger. If it's only a couple refunds it shouldn't be bad but try to limit it.
Then again the warning from years ago might also be because they were testing the waters at the time and that's not a thing anymore. I don't recall hearing about anyone losing the right to refund.
Still, be aware that if you are refunding the funds won't be available again immediately, which is a problem if you want to spend it before the end of the sale.

I'm pretty fucking drunk, recommend me some cheap lesser known games and i'll buy them right now. I've been staring at my wishlist for a week and haven't decided what to buy because i'm indecisive as fuck, so i'll leave it to you guys
i already have way too many games on steam, that's why I'm asking for lesser know games, but they don't exactly have to be games with 3 reviews, just stuff that's not triple A slop.

>>714624647Rune factory/harvest moon/story of seasons
>>714601496I'd say we have similar taste given I have basically all of these as well so:
Towerclimb - not strictly dickly a platformer, think a more bare bones spelunky but you go up. Gets challenging at higher levels of the climb, good tech but slow game feel (atleast initially)
Volgarr the Viking - Ghouls n Ghosts like game, great design, platforming is old school with no air control.
Prince of Persia: Lost Crown - Game gets more platformer-like as it goes on. one thing I loved is they play into your abilities and keep the design faithful to original Prince of Persia with tons of hallways and rooms with creative platforming sequences full of spikes and shit. Bosses are designed like that too. A lot of effort into the gamefeel, if this hooks you you'll love the way the Prince moves.
Aeterna Noctis - Game basically starts at the optional difficult platforming challenges in most metroidvainias and keeps getting harder. Snappy controls, good jump feel.
Huntdown: Run and Gun with great designed stages and boss fights especially. So so platforming but it fits the games you like for twitch play and skill.
Finally, not a recommendation for something to buy, but the Celeste Spring Collab and Strawberry Jam mods are incredible if you like Celeste. Gyms to practice tech, tons of unique map designs, and a bunch of maps at each skill level. You own it already, but I figured I'd bring up mods if you haven't tried them. I spent ages on Super Meat Boy custom chapters and this is like that for quality.

Wrestling Empire (love it, actually good wrestling game, just enough jank to be funny)
Rift Wizard 2 (rage inducing but fun, keep blowing myself up)
UFO: Aftermath (some slavjank X-Com clone, pretty alright, was a dollar)
Shiren the Wanderer Tower of Fortune (really fun)

>>714601364 (OP)Someone give me actual good niche games under $10 for this sale, I don't mind short or silly games. Ark's Wonder Dungeon actually turned out to be kind of cool, even though I'd kill for a glossary that explained what the icons all mean.
>>714627520Honestly I just stop playing JRPGs in general because they last 50+ hours and take me months to complete as a result, but now it's been so long that I would have to play the first game again to get what's going on.

>>714629259No, it's a PvE game. Though I've heard if you play with randoms some of them will be autistic speedrunners during missions and do all the objectives for you before you get to experience the level.
There is progression and builds but you level up at a decent pace so you're always unlocking new gadgets and options. If you're gonna play with friends or solo I recommend it, can't speak on the experience playing with randoms because I've never done it.
>>714629297dunno about the others, but toy story 3 is legitimately a good game, though i think the pc version is a wii port instead of a 360/ps3 port

It's still a fun game, but y'know, it's a wii game it won't look as good. It also doesn't have all the features of the 360/Ps3 versions. What bothered me as a kid the most was the lack of a playable Emperor Zurg

any z- games with gameplay?
>>714630601anons always say 4 is the best one
>>714607693sorry for the late reply, but yeah you do have to book it because if you want the true ending you can't really meander and there are a lot of invisible barriers where it looks like you can explore parts of the map
the game is fine, but it has the usual compile heart jank and if you want to take your time then you'll still get the normal ending and just replay on NG+ and speedrun to the good ending
gameplay is at least more unique than their neptunia series mechanically and the girls are cute so unless you don't have a lot of cash or don't want to do multiple playthroughs just skip it

Working my way through what I bought
>Below the Ocean
Short but nice. Seems to take a lot from Celeste from what I know of that game, I feel like there was a lot of room to explore with the rope physics but they kept it pretty pared down
>Forklift Load
Kusoge as expected
>New Star GP
Alright, but since I could tell it was repetitive I called it quits after the first season (roughly 20% in at 3.5 hours)
>Nauticrawl
The vehicle controls themselves are fun to learn, but then when you get out and have to play the
>Critters for Sale
I partially knew what I was getting into, since I was in a circle with the dev and had played his demo. Still it's a pretty ridiculous VN that blends a lot of western and eastern mysticism into a slurry that then gets overshadowed by full video performances of Michael Jackson and MC Ride
>TY the Tasmanian Tiger
Bought this one to do an Archipelago randomizer run with buddies, which always makes something more fun. Despite that, it's kinda weak for a collectathon. The levels sprawl too much, the mechanics and set pieces are a bit weak, and you need to collect 300 coin-equivalents per level. They should have split up the levels (either into new levels or like Mario 64/Sunshine did with picking your goal)
>>714633265Oh, I forgot to finish the Nauticrawl bit.
The vehicle controls themselves are fun to learn, but then when you get out and have to play the real game there's a bit of disappointment in it being randomized. Once I got in the swing of things I had the perfect run handed to me where every time I went anywhere I immediately stumbled into the next objective instead of the numerous fluff zones. This means I only had to look at like a third of the content in that run and it was over within a half-hour

>>714634472How? This looks janky and cheap as hell.
