Yeah, the chapter 4 Titan fight was a chore to do and I don't trust anyone who says it's a better fight than Tenna's.
But there's something interesting about being able to fight the Knight and the Titan this early, if the Roaring is just gonna make you fight these two again then that's just not very interesting from a storytelling perspective. My prediction is that Toby is gonna derail the story in an unexpected way so he wanted to get the obvious fights out of the way first. So I don't think we're fighting the knight and a titan again, it doesn't make sense. As far as we know, the roaring might not even happen.

"Force of nature" enemies are not interesting for what they do, but by how the characters react to them. The Titan fight was the culmination of an entire chapter of character development for Susie, the start of more character development for Ralsei, and a taste of the endgame at the midway mark. The threat of the prophecy was never a single Titan, it was the Roaring creating multiple Titans that can only be sealed by Kris' soul, and presumably a source of the Roaring that will have to be sealed to banish the Angels' Heaven and all that.

Knowing that even one single freshly made Titan can fight the heroes to a standstill and can only be beaten by our soul doing what would otherwise be a suicide attack was a good way to make it clear what the stakes of the full Roaring would be. Even a "mature" Titan would be a much harder fight.
Plus "get dunked on" was one of the best moments of the entire game so far.

It's honestly a little depressing how easy Toby makes these games, I don't want a SUPER HARDCORE challenge it really REALLY doesn't need to be full shmup autism difficulty at all I'd hate that.
But just a crumb of difficulty would be nice sometimes, I'd love the OPTION to pick hard mode even if it goes against the narrative.

I genuinely don't believe there's much hatred left after chapter 4 unless it's weird route.
Kris is trying to accomplish something for the voice on the phone and the knight, they made some kind of promise. It seems clear they're unhappy with the situation, and don't want to choose between their new friends and their obligation. With the shining power of the Soul fully displayed in lighting the way before the titan fight, and the soul straight up destroying a titan entirely, I feel that kris will see the Soul not just as a tool, but as a genuine ally that's capable of breaking him out of his fate and potentially helping him achieve everything he wants without having to hurt or betray anyone anymore.

Gerson is easier than the previous two to simply "beat" as hes a simpler and not schizo boss, but if instead of beating him, you wanna guard every turn and survive all of his attacks without healing so you can see *all* of his dialogue and moves, hes definitely the hardest ifght so far

To be fair, Alphys is far less annoying in Deltarune. Toby toned her down a lot. Then again, I think it was very much intentional for her to annoy the player in Undertale. Ironically, that character felt like a mockery of the sort of person that would go on to obsess over Toby's games. You know, the "Tumblr lol random I'm so trash weeb" kind. I guess it was some sort of emotional setup for the resolution with Mettaton, but I'm not sure in what way exactly. If you got to fight her, then it would make sense, because then it would be tempting to just kill her, possibly altering your route. But that fight never happens in any of the routes. So it's a bit puzzling. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, and Toby actually intended for her to be endearing and simply miscalculated.
