Did a playthrough as male and as a female. I don't remember there being any differences. It's kinda pointless when everyone in the world seems to be gender-agnostic but that's modern gaming I guess. Though to be fait I don't think there was much difference in BG2 as well apart from romance options being pretty strict and a bunch of underdark dialogue.
Other old games like fallout, arcanum, VTMB had a lot more unique stuff for each. Arcanum even has different base starting stats which would cause a fucking twitter meltdown today.

A lot of those random shit items are potentially usable in some niche, edge-case way. They wanted to have emergent gameplay and honestly they succeeded. The amount of shit you can do in game is very high even though they had to limit some of the craziest abilities from 5e and you only get lvl 12.

It's not that it's pozzed, really, it's just that there is a "conventionally good" storyline and Larian expects you to follow it.
As long as you stay on that path, the story appears well crafted.

Paladin is super cheap, sadly, but it's not unwinnable for Barbarian. Paladin gets Advantage with Vow of Enmity (vengeance only), they hit harder because Divine Smite, and they even get Haste. I would gladly do a Giant Barb playthrough. The fat guy in Act 2 is straight up immune to physical, and that's why bonus elemental damage helps.

Second playthrough was a LG Durge. Tiefling bard based on Mina Ashido from MHA, but cuter.

Last playthrough was evil Durge, tiefling monk who's always naked, made her to look like a succubus and she's constantly covered in blood. The scene where you lick the goblin's toe gives us a real nice view of her ass.

Technically I played once as a male. Bosco the Juggler. Half-orc clown barbarian with cottoncandy colored hair and beard, whose goal is to join the circus in Act 3, and is the worst juggler ever. Always accidentally throwing stuff at peopple. Unfortunately he was part of a coop game but my friend dropped it so I erased the character.

No, I played as a Human Male Durge on my first evil playthrough and a normal Half-Elf Male on my good playthrough. I dropped the game at act 3 on my 2nd playthrough when I realized that despite literally picking the most opposite options from what I did on my first playthrough, I was basically playing the same game and you're forced to go down the same path. Literally the only difference of a Evil playthough is that you just straight up kill certain NPCs and completely lose access to content instead of getting a proper evil route that lets you do content in the perspective of a evil Faction.

For example, you can kill the half moon tavern in act 2, but a good a playthrough spars them and gets access to their quests, while still getting access to all the evil quests at half moon keep when you infiltrate. A good playthrough simply gets more content and there's no proper evil route. You simply lock your self out of content.

That IS NOT a Evil Route. That is simply Murder Hobo behavior that locks you out of content. Larian are hacks.

I don't think I've thought about this in the detail you have, but yeah, the setting is clearly fucked up with tragic, awful shit happening to people on the daily. I do think the game does a good job of showcasing just how bad things can go, especially if you yourself participate in and even encourage the awful shit to happen.
