My job (high finance) immediately jumped on AI, specifically, Microsoft's Copilot. They made us us Copilot to automatically generate financial analysis that we did by hand. That ended quickly when Copilot was regularly wrong including bungling a $6.8 billion transaction.

yeah i do think if timmy normalfag is pursuing a card for its frame generation that he's also probably gonna be interested in his real performance vs. his kayfabe performance

unlike most performance artists on /v/ i'm aware "normalfag" is not actually a synonym for "mentally retarded" and timmy has a concept of numbers

Yeah this seems to be what happens time after time with AI. Then companies that develop it take 0 responsibility and pretend that this is some mystical tech no one, even themselves comprehends.

I see AI as a potential tool to lower the barriers of entry for fields to not require technical skill, but beyond that I think well see a dotcom bubble burst all over again since it is just LLMs with data set refining.
>>714679154 (OP)
I doubt this.
>Every frame of every game will be AI!
ummm okay, so how do you fix the lag issue with AI frames!
>And Raytracing will be the future!
so when are you going to provide adequate RAM and get the card prices to a reasonable price? How will you fix the massive power draw problem?
>Ummmm.... it is the future and will be smarter than humans!
Why is it failing at doing entry level customer service jobs or moderation on web platforms.
>UMMMM..... UMMMM.... DADDY GOVERNMENT, THEY AREN'T BUYING OUR SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY! BAIL ME OUT!
how Amazon didn't get reemed in court for lying to investors that their AI stores were actually just outsourced Indians blows my mind.

Soon you wonโ€™t purchase video games anymore (thank GOD, this is what the industry has been TRYING to do for years) you will just ask an AI to generate a game for you right then. Want to play GTA? Just ask it to โ€œgenerateโ€ (read: copy and paste) the โ€œgameโ€ (read: copied data) and play that instead! No more purchasing pesky video games!!! The industry can FINALLY REST ITS WEARY SOUL WITH THE RELEASE OF DEATH

Games are so shitty now that this can only improve the state of the industry. Perhaps we'll be able to make our own games with a couple of prompts. No longer will wokeness be forced down our throats.

This will either completely destroy the gaming industry, or usher us into a new golden age. Both scenarios are good in my eyes.

the thing was, the ai bots were trained on that game specifically and pretty sure it received direct RAM state information about the game instead of reading input from the visible output of the game.

They wanted to train that same Neural Network on Starcraft2 acknowledging that its a way more complex game than Moba.
While it managed to reach Grandmaster rank, it never got higher than this. Some maybe Top100 SC player made pic related comment.

>nigger doesn't know about bubbles.
Do you know how much money they've sunk into AI? Do you know how money they continue to sink into AI? Do you know that AI is not profitable whatsoever? It's all based on the promise that in a few years, it will be much better than what it is now. And it will finally solve the billion dollar problems like curing cancer and all that. That's what they're selling to investors. It is a lie. They lied about AGI, and they're lying about this. They've hit diminishing returns with LLMs but they're going to squeeze as much out of it before the bubble pops. You saw the cyrpto bubble pop and all of these "altcoins" losing practically all of their value, with bitcoin being one of the few last standing but losing a ton of momentum in the process.

2000s we had the dotcom crash, 2007 we had the housing market bubble pop. Even recently, we had "data analysis" be the next big thing before AI took the world by storm. And it didn't go anywhere because these companies were paying exhorbitant amounts to have people "analyze data" that was supposed to give them some kind of hidden knowledge that would allow their company to function better. The people that were paying these data analysts? They never delivered, their businesses didn't make more money. They LOST a ton of money, now hardly anyone talks about that and everyone's moved on to the next con: convincing everyone they need AI, they can replace employees with AI, and that it's gonna be sooooooo much smarter in just a few more years trust the plan. It may hallucinate and spit out erroneous information regularly, it has no real use beyond generating porn, shitty poems, and shoddy code, but WE PROMISE in 5-10 years it will be smarter than a human. Let's forget just how power hungry this, building all the data centers, building POWER PLANTS to power those data centers...All so you can have a chatbot that does anything you could have accomplished with a search engine.

Believe it or not crossfire still exists. It's marketed on AM5 boards and is functioning but only in specific apps. For instance you can use dual GPUs for render projects or you can split AI workload or do a Intel quick sync like thing with videos. Even if you dont have a crossfire board, the concept of Hybrid Graphics still applies to AMD desktops and laptops.

They're already on dlss 4 and it still has constant movement artifacts, and llms are so stupid they constantly invent package names for code functionality, which a bad actor could exploit to massively distribute malware into millions of applications thanks to vibe coding.

Remember when those reports came out? The jewish tricks exposed while the '''features''' were enabled by default from users who don't know how to update their drivers or even open the settings menu nor browse a file system? Garbage upscaling and frame gen which is pushed by influencers and streamers because the games they are pushing run like dogshit? It's exploitation of a constantly eroding gorillian dollar gaming industry and rampant enshittification by a generation who has given up alongside not knowing any better.

Keep reading. It follows up with an iGPU example, from the cpu. No one is running SLI or Crossfire anymore. And the only people with multiple gpus in one system are doing workstation/nas/server loads or streamers who got their setup off of losers. Also anyone complaining about amd drivers in the last decade are the unknowing. The only problem I've had with the radeon 7000 series is during the first launch week when DaVinci had a vram leak. The rest of the issues are shared complaints, mostly sourced from the HMDI consortium being apple tier of hostile to users and OEMs. Besides, the nvidia drivers have been notably degenerating and hostile to cards that aren't even 2 years old. To the point where Adrenaline is straight up better both out of the box and with tweaks.

For gaming crossfire is all but dead. Elsewhere it's used for various use cases.

>AMD MGPU technology harnesses the power of two or more discrete graphics cards working in parallel to dramatically improve performance in games and applications. On systems with AMD MGPU enabled the video output is delivered through the primary GPU and the workload is allocated to all supported GPUs in the setup.

On AM5 boards you can use the igpu in parallel with the dgpu. Or you can pair two AMD graphics cards and have Windows/Linux assign to GPU0 & GPU1 if the app provides or it can be hacked in (DXVK/VKD3D).

Yes, and they simply don't tell you. It's kind of like the difference between good CGI and bad CGI. Good CGI is never noticed, bad CGI stands out like a sore thumb. Good AI generation that's gone through the proper workflow has already been released in countless projects and nobody has noticed it's even there.

>I can use AI to create better animations for these fucking games I make, and in a year or two, I might be able to use AI for basically everything, but if I get to that point, I won't be doing anything different from what you can do without paying me.
The conclusion I came to is that I'm going to keep working as I always have, and as long as there's someone paying me because they prefer to see the things I create according to my characteristics as an author, rather than playing with AI and generating their own entertainment, I'm going to keep using the old methods.

it is where we're headed. it started with upscaling then there will be AI for audio, textures, special effects, NPCs behavior, level design etc. and it will all be generated in real time. you will still be buying the base experience and assets but AI will personalize it for every individual player with the power of jensen GPU.

>this is some mystical tech no one, even themselves comprehends.
That's... kind of what it is, actually. Sure, we know how it works, but within the realm of AI research, there's a concept known as "the black box problem." That means when you ask the question "for input X, why, specifically, did this algorithm generate output Y?" for any AI stuff, the answer is literally always "I dunno." Because you can't know. Once the program is trained, a human can no longer make sense of how or why it weighted certain variables a certain way. It's an impenetrable black box.

The irony is that this makes a lot of ML algorithms (generative ones in particular) profoundly fucking useless for what our society has come to understand as the purpose of a computer. Up until now, we've understood them to be machines that execute instructions perfectly. And what that hasn't changed in a literal sense, from the average user's perspective, computers performing AI tasks are now just generating chaotic nonsense for no discernible reason.

You're right.

>>714701983
You're wrong.

TSMC is still making smaller transistors, Nvidia has just chosen not to buy them. This is a classic case of a what happens with monopolies, there is no reason for Nvidia to improve graphics cards because doing so just adds costs for themselves. They can take the existing transistor sizes and slap more of them on larger and larger cards (like they did with the 5000 series) or rely on software changes to make it seem like they're offering more.

The introduction of AI fake frames as well as the re-packaging of up-scaling as a feature is the single biggest step backwards gaming has ever had. We've never seen such reckless faggotry by a GPU manufacture before.

AMD isn't using 3nm for their gpus either. It's more because of companies like apple outbidding everyone ASAP and taking all of the capacity, and they can't just go somewhere else because tsmc is so far ahead of everyone else. Intel is supposedly about to catch up with 18a but there's rumors saying that they've decided to keep that for themselves and put their resources into 14a.

Anyway, no, that timeline sounds way too aggressive. LLMs have a future but it isn't as a panacea for anything, as it is it barely has any application in its relevant fields and it has to skinwalk as "artificial intelligence" to drive up adoption

I see the current attempted forcing adoption going on as some kind of weird fucking combination of Roko's basilisk and Pascal's wager where "you MUST adopt this currently useless and extremely resource consumptive technology or You'll Be Left Behind," but in actual practice for a lot of them I think it's more, "this enormous theoretical boot MIGHT exist in the future, so we'd better start licking now in case it begins to exist"
