Want to make some rooms for you and anons to play?
Go to "friends", "Register a Friend" and add the friend code of the host. Press a and then b to back out to the wifi menu, then go back to "Friends", "Find a Friend" and click them. You should now be in the lobby and should wait for others. Eazy! Btw for anyone wanting to make a open lobby in this game, just go to friends, and press the + button. read the message and select ok. just post your friend code in the thread and others can join.
(note: if it says "unable to join" the lobby is currently racing, you need to wait some minutes for the races to finish and the lobby to open again)

How do drifts and mini-turbos work in this again? Been so long since I've played wii, I'm too used to 8 and world.

Bikes tend to have inside drift when pressing the button, and their miniturbos only go to blue to compensate for how sharp their drift turning is. They also get wheelies as a way to gain extra speed.
Karts are more traditional, with outwards drifts that go to pink (largest boost type) and don't have wheelies. Hybrid drift style is recommended for sharper non-drift turns.

You get the automatic drifting when you turn, as well as the ability to drift normally. One of the things that helps make karts more viable in this mod.

Hybrid for bikes works by merging auto and manual drift styles, so if you turn too much without starting a drift, you'll auto-drift.
For karts, however, it makes their regular non-drift turning inside drift, which negates the biggest downside they had in MKWii, that they had no mobility and were sitting ducks when it came to getting hit by items, so now they can weave in and out if they need to while also retaining their usual gameplay style of hunting for outside drift pink boosts.
