Yeah just feels bad replaying something good like Deus Ex or Half Life 2 on a massive overkill system when there was a few games I was genuinely excited to try.

>>714760327
I'm new to upscaling I see people are recommending 'native' upscaling is that like rendering at 1080p and just inserting fake frames at 1080p? So basically interpolating like one of those horrid smart TVs?

>>714760391
Not always, and even if you can some of these new AAA games actually render many things at 700-900 internally and use TAA to hide it. So you get horrid artifacting without it on.

I think he meant the opposite of upscaling actually, rendering the game at higher internal resolution than your monitor's resolution (which is then *downscaled* when being actually displayed on your monitor). Might seem pointless since you can't actually see the image in that higher resolution due to your monitor, but it makes anti-aliasing better.

4k isn't that great of an resolution to begin with considering that tvs are just massive and no one buys below 65in anymore so of course sitting 2 feet away from a 65in screen isn't going to give you the best sharpness in 4k. i think realistically 6k should be the minimum for games going forward

you'll get over it, you could also check in on some indies from time to time since hardware isn't an issue for you

The blur is what's making AAA require high end computers, and they're integrated deep you can never truly turn them off even if you do.

None of the modern games warrant the use of superpowered technology, all older games looked better. Newer hardware models receive "updates" to keep performance up, all older hardware are gimped by updates to make new thing look good. Manufacturers are in cahoots with triple aslap

I also hate using my best PC for old and 2D games.
Anyone here can recommend me a "low powered" PC (preferably in compact case) that is highly energy efficient, cool and can still render pre 2016 games in 1440p?

I am not exaggerating when I say new games physically hurt my eyes. I couldn't play avowed, because it was such a repulsive visual vomit. I couldn't play Ovliion remaster, because it was all just brown diarrhea. When I booted up CP, I though my game bugged, it looked like shit even on highest settings. Now everything is blurry like I got soap in my eyes. Everything looks realistic and nothing stands out, it all blends together and strains eyes. So they have to resort to yellow paint to indicate items of interest. Graphics should not have progressed past 2008.

First thing I did when I booted my new computer up was open up CP and max it out, I went from a 1070 on low/med to 9060 xt on ultra, i was expecting to be blown away, I couldn't tell the difference, except it somehow looked MORE blurry.

You can disable TAA with a user.uni file and it looks much better now, problem is I finished the game twice and don't actually want to play it again.

I tried space marine 2, quit in 10 seconds, the blur was insane.

I just finished downloading Deus Ex HR and waiting on an AI upscaled texture mod to finish and I'll give that a go. Crazy to think the piss filter on HR was the graphical controversy of the time.

i have a 300hz 1080p monitor for CS2 and a 4k panel for consooming other things, im really not seeing how a 'better' monitor would alter blur caused by UE5 TAA and downscaled graphical effects in modern games

>He is still using 1080p
Oh, no.
AAA games are targeting 4K output because of cucksoles.
Devs don't care how 1080p looks.
It makes huge difference even if your input is as low as 1080p with DLSS.
If you want you can use DLAA or if you are on AyyMD use Optiscaler.
1080p will still look bad no matter what with temporal AA.
Anonymous No.714767086 [Report]
It's actually depressing just how genuinely bad shit like Monster Hunter Wilds looks from all the """Next Gen™""" effects and settings. Grainy and blurry no matter what you do with the in-game settings. People have to resort to mods to make it not nightmarish to look at.
All the end of hunt killscreens suck ass too, where this is only amplified. Especially because of all the visual effects from weapons now that just hide any clarity of what happened on the final hit against the monster.
I have maybe had like 2-4 good, screencap-worthy moments in all of Wilds's kill screens. For World and Rise I had no shortage of cool kill screens.
