It's a similar thing that happened between Red Faction 1 and 2 and Deus Ex and Invisible War where the first game was built with PC in mind and holds up to this day whereas the second one was built for consoles with all the limitations that carried .Though in all honesty FEAR 2 is the best out of the bunch, I tried playing RF2 after the first and I had to stop after the third level it was so bad.
