Game is open world and takes part in another Japanese city that's somewhere in scale between Inaba and Tokyo, and this game's version of Tartarus/TV dungeons/palaces will be a shadow version of the "real world" map where certain buildings take on completely different forms, essentially becoming mini-palaces. P6's version of glasses/masks will be full-on hero suits, or potentially something like exoskeletons that were created by the Kirijo group and shadow ops, which has grown in scale due to the state of the world in this game, where the entire world is slowly becoming consumed by its shadow counterpart.

Also, while this game will continue the trend of being set in high school and the social sim elements reflect a coming-of-age story, it will have considerably more callbacks and direct references to the previous 3 Persona games. especially P3 and P4, hence why Atlus is so insistent on those remakes getting out before P6. This is also why everyone was re-cast in those games, because the new VAs will have time to build chemistry and work on aged-up versions of their character for P6, which takes place over 2020 and 2021. Yes, the "shadow world" will be an analogy for the pandemic and all the global strife and conflict that this decade has brought us, since this story needs to be just "on-the-nose" enough.

The thing is, an adult party member *can* work if they’re used to contrast the idealism of the younger cast - like showing what compromise does to someone over time. The trick is not making them just a chaperone or comic relief. Zenkichi had potential in P5S but they sidelined him hard. How to make Persona 6 good (the only objectively correct way)

1) It's outcast kids, moreso than Persona 5. Nobody is popular or a part of a club.
2) It's specifically about conspiracies and secrets.
3) The party's personas are based on UFO culture and other /x/ shit - Main protagonist's persona is a grey alien called Abductor. It'll evolve to Genome, representing the idea of mystical genes/fated bloodlines which is at the root of all UFO mythology.
4) Other Personas representing famous ghosts, cryptids, and controversial figures
5) Story seems to be a grandiose government conspiracy but it winds up being more personal
6) Sub-Personas. Like in Persona Q everyone has a bit of Fool after a point, allowing them to equip allied personas in the Velvet Room
7) Velvet Room attendant is an Asuka type who doesn't want to be there but has to serve you who, much like the protagonist, is growing to find her role and strengths (she is the protagonist's ideal companion in this regard)
8) Set in coastal Japan with a focus on the seaside aesthetic
9) Give every dungeon equal attention so you don't frontload the game with really good content and then throw a bunch of grindy slogshit at the back like in every other Persona game
10) This is the big one: The cool human foil who is the protagonist's rival is the primary antagonist and final boss. The human rival can use Personas as good or better than you and he is the one using the big ancient deity as a tool. No Izanami hijack this time. The Adachi, Akechi, Takaya gets to properly be the antagonistic force.

Setup, payoff, thematic intent. The intent behind the story should be to focus on the people around you instead of the deeper mysteries or special interests that pull you away from synthesis with others and alienate you from your own life.

You can change the background of your phone, but with images that your Confidants send you; your waifu sending you increasingly "revealing" pictures through the game would draw coomers and fujos alike, and you could even set a "rotation" of pics. You can set her beach pics for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but the rest of the week, your phone's background is that of her and her girls at the cafe, all smiling at the camera.

Confidants are generally more active in texting you, and there's branching dialogue that actually matters and steers the conversation.

Bring back social link reverals and a drawback to (getting caught) having a harem. Having to actively go behind a girl's back to get a harem would make a lot of people wonder about the morality of such an action, and it's just a fun idea to see how much haremfagging would die if the game really wanted to explore some deeper ideas there.

It's all 60-90s year olds in a retirement home who turn back into teenagers when entering the persona dimension.

The games are all based on Jung, Kabbalah, astrology etc. In fact all the games past 3 are based on one of the four fixed zodiac signs (Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, and Leo though Taurus hasn’t happened yet), which rule over the elements, are ruled by archangels and the four heads of the cherubim, rule the seasons, rule the cardinal directions and in Christianity rule over the four gospels etc. In fact this was foreshadowed in Persona 2, and everything has been leading up to Persona 6 completing the cross thus creating a new era - who knows what will happen? Personas aren’t just something from Jung and JoJo, but are based on real practiced concepts in occultism like the assumption of godforms and the union with the HGA.
