If you're a subhuman mutt that wished aerith would rescue you from khhv status as a kid, you'll hate it. if you're a normal person with good gaming taste, it's absolutely worth it. I don't know about the performance on mid or low end hardware though, might wanna look that up if you don't have a solid card. I have a 4090 strix so if there's performance issues, I can't really tell you about them. English sub has good voices but the localization has faggot errors, like random BTS references and barret mentioning marlene in a flashback that takes place years before she's even born, etc, all because localizers are tranny faggot subhumans. I'd recommend playing it in Japanese with an accurate translation mod, even though the English voices are mostly great.

People got pissed at all the story changes in Remake so they bent to the knee to purists and retcon all the changes in Rebirth. Nothing changes from the original story in Rebirth.

If you want to play a video game that embodies the classic essence of playing video games , then there is nothing better than FF7 Rebirth.
The game has so much game that the minigames could each be sold separately for $10-15 each.

However, if you're a story-fag who gets hung up over things not making sense, then Rebirth will piss you off. Square has decided to use FF7 as a artifice for its gameplay systems rather than the other way around.

For me, Rebirth's combat was so good that it never got boring. The combat was in such a mature state that they were able to iterate an entire challenging endgame around it. It's genuinely very rewarding when you finally manage to clear the higher difficulty challenges.

IMO, Square is in a really weird transition point with FF7 Rebirth. They still suck at narrative storytelling but at least they're prioritizing gameplay again which is promising.

Yes. Gameplay wise it's easily the best FF game, it's got tons of content and is overall fun to play in general.

The first like, 9/10ths of the plot are fine and mostly stay true to the original, although they do take some liberties, and they do what they did in Remake with expanding upon things and adding a bunch of shit to make scenarios longer and more in depth. But that last 10% of it, the final act and the ending, the changes they made are extremely retarded, like Kingdom Hearts levels of retarded, like we pulled this shit straight out of our asses as we were going retarded.

If you enjoy FF games at all I say go for it, just know that, like with Remake, you aren't actually getting a direct remake of the FFVII story, but rather a simultaneous quasi-sequel and soft-reboot.

I hated how it repeatedly took control away to show a dumb canned animation, even locked out menus and gave the bulshit pause screen during common animations that aren't interacting with anything. Real basic shit like non-run/walk movements.
Some of it is just absurd, "congratulations, you scanned the thing, now stand here while we paint a UI graphic, update some shit and save". There was no reason to stop you being able to move around during that time, it made the whole game frustratingly slow. it's not like aanything is even close enough to each other to be worried about glitches from simultaneous/chained triggers.

I played a few hours of remake and then a few hours of the original and I didn't like the original in comparison. I was really surprised to see that fat man and Jessie died without any character development or anything. I really enjoyed the little arc she has in remake. I also hated the random encounters, to the point I cheated in some materia that lowers them, but overall I still preferred the remake cause of the characters and overall presentation. Call me a bunch of names if you want but yeah. It kind of makes me sad too cause I know Remake might as well be a sequel with all the retarded plot changes and spooky ghosts so wish I could've enjoyed the original to enjoy remake fully. Aerith best girl ever by the way
