Its less combo and more like utility imo. Souls doesnt need more than 2 attack animation cycles because each attack has some some form of utility. Normal attacks tend to have sweeping motions against crowds, heavies or running attacks have pokes for reaching targets or attacks that break enemy poise and stagger them. Its only in ER and DaS3 where weapon movesets progressive got more and more anime where you are flipping all over the place shooting magic beams.

I really do not like the timed dodge and timed block.
Look out this enemy will have a second or third or tenth attack you also must block that comes with almost no warning unlike every starting attack you need to block that's on a 5 second delay.
In NieR you just dodged with an invincibility frame dodge until you could attack again. You also got airborne way more often and with benefit.

Not to be rude but you are mixing up the combat system with the progression system. The progression for attacks was slightly linked to getting new weapons in NieR but it could have been spread out over more of the game. The chip system I think is also better than the point skill unlocks.

Nier is just a brainless button masher. Its quite clear that minimum though was put into the combat and its just there for you to do something between cutscenes. Enemies die quickly and are barely a threat overall.

SB has some room for improvement, but it makes far better use of its combat system overall. What it needs to do is to have more attack options, maybe a launcher beta attack that you can chain with other combos. Maybe new weapon types. It definitely needs more varied enemy types, maybe summoners and ranged units. Something to mix enemy encounters up.


It definitely could use Sekiros mini bosses for upgrades, rather than just finding a body lying around.

I think that's unironically the game's strongest pops. It's one of the first games to have to a very kpop identity, something not even other korean games do where they just use generic fantasy or scifi music. It reminds me of how Bayonetta and Lollipop Chainsaw also used pop for its music.
Of course music preference will always be a debatable subject but in this regard, I think it's one way to say that Stellar Blade is trying to make itself seperate from Nier Automata since both games are very music oriented.

Its usually in the story cutscenes. KR Eve sounds young and inexperienced compared to the other 2 main dubs, like she genuinely isnt prepared for all the shit that's happening in the game. EN and JP Eve sound like Eve's been fighting in Earth for a really long time and has grown numbed by it. The difference in voice is more pronounced especially in the Eidos 7 cutscenes where Eve asks Adam why he's helping her and about the state of the earth.

100% done. I think it’s a fun game, though not worth it at full price. I wish the optional bosses you find in the sandbox were more varied—they're all just reused from the main story. Enemy variety is pretty average. The main story is also average. Side quests are trash and completely forgettable. Characters are mediocre overall; I think Lily is the most interesting, while EVE is the most boring and bland. Raven is a mediocre villain.

Collecting outfits and taking pictures is great. The fishing minigame is a joke. It's so barebones that I wish it was more like the one in FFXV. Combat is very satisfying and fun in 1v1 scenarios, but it gets pretty fucking bullshit when fighting multiple enemies.

I just hope that they either keep using UE4 (unlikely but still possible) or they start learning how to use UE5 properly so it doesn't become a gigantic shitshow like every game that uses that fucking engine in the past game barring some Asian AA games like Wukong or E33. I'm almost done with NG I think.
This game is not good, it's mid as fuck.
The only memorable part is the space elevator, that was super kino, but everything else is shit. The two (fucking two, one wasn't enough) ubisoft deserts were the absolute lowest point. Combat is repetitive, stiff, unresponsive.
I'm just skipping all the random wall of text infodumps, and not paying attention to the cutscenes as they just bore the fuck out of me.
What a fucking letdown.
