HSR is a modern classical Gacha.

It's the next logical step of a png collector, you now collect 3d models instead.
It's big in East Asia, they love to be whales, collect all 3d models, can play on automode with minimum time investment, as they are wageslaves who have little to no free time.
It's incompatible with most Western audience desu, as a chink myself I have come to stop giving a shit about HSR.

You can excuse the lack of gameplay because it's a real Gacha, but the lack of decent presentation within the game is disgusting.
They spent more resources into marketing it than the actual game. The characters lack any facial expression, no lip sync most of the time, black and white with text screen instead of decent animation and the list goes on.

Forgot to add, I just wish we had gotten a dungeon to play through in order to break up the pace or something. Coming from Kremnos and Styxia in previous patches to 3.4 being a movie patch was rather harsh.
But then again, I kind of hated Sky Castrum so maybe it's for the best. We might get some good dungeons down the line and the 3.4 break might be justified then.

The dev team actually taked about this as one of the big complaints about Penacony was that the story was all dialogue and basically a visual novel. They don't want to put combat encounters as they can either make them a challenge and the end up too difficult for the average player, or easy and people just auto them resulting in a time waster. They tried an alternative in 3.0 by using puzzles instead but there was massive backlash to that.

He's an aerial combat oriented character in a game balanced and designed around ground combat. Which means he's insanely clunky and his hotboxes are wonky and inconsistent. He's also a standard character so his damage output for all that work already got powercrept by other characters and even fellow standard male Calcharo can dish out more damage than lion boy for less work.
