Umamusume is more polished but is designed for whales, you're forced to pull for cards and pulling for dupes makes them a lot stronger. Don't even think about getting some new horses because all your currency will go into cards unless you're fine with B tier horses, or even lower with the upcoming powercreep. Also the RNG nature of the game makes is frustrating at times, the game hides everything from you and feels rigged

Blue Archive feels cheaper but the gacha system is much better, you only have to pull for the character you want and you're done, there's no reason to pull for dupes because you can buy them in the shop with some currency you earn

Im playing horse game
I usually dislike this kind of game but this one has me hooked. You can choose to not gacha they give you enough resources to do f2p just fine for now. Pvp autists will tell you you need pne gajillion cards of specific characters or you are bricked, but no one sane plays these games for the autistic, pay to win pvp. Just enjoy the horse girl antics.

Both are fun but if you can only pick one, I personally prefer BA, less time on dailies and no real pressure to pull + infinite well of doujins.

Played BA for like 2 years, started weeb mlp a with the recent release of global. Just making my bias clear.
BAs got the less paywalled gacha system, wider girl variety (both in bodytypes and personalities), better art imo, more fanservice, and a much more interesting story imo.
Umas got budget, just compare their animes to BAs, it's gameplay is more indepth than what you'll be doing in BA (mostly autorunning to grinding mats for raids).
Oh and boths soundtracks are pretty top notch too.
