well, they should have have added at least m+0 auto-queue since long time ago - literally zero reason for it to not be there. i don't think much people are ever doing m0 except first weeks of season because of there's no queue for that - and with manual group it is betten then to just go +2s.
and for keys up to +10 i see no reason to not have an auto group option for those willing to take consequences.
but either way, just switch to playing tank or healer and waiting/fishing problem will go away.

DBM is very handy in raids - it literally tells you when to swap with second tank. For dungeons also quite useful - it tells you what to interrupt, when to use defensive, etc etc. Good one to pair with DBM is GTFO - it will signal when you stand in some shit, and sometimes the shit is same colour as floor so not very obvious.
I've seen quite a few times tanks just straight say "first time in dungeon, pls ping the way" and thats it - someone will just ping you with directions (go to options and search for Ping function if you did not play for a while). So just tell it upfront and even make a macro for it, people are gonna be chill about it because it is gonna take forever to get a new tank lol.
And if you dont feel comfortable with your skills yet - just use single button assist, you will do just fine. All you have to manage are your defensives/taunts/selfheal because those are not included in rotation assist.
