It has some REALLY good moments but also a lot of very bad ones.

I think the soul Kris currently has is being strengthened up for some ritual by sealing fountains, the original soul is currently keeping Dess alive (but it's in a superposition of both actively killing her and being the only thing keeping her alive), and once we reach a high enough level Kris will be Used Up like in the sword game (and bring us to finally use the Vessel in the last chapter)
