go blind, just know these:
1.You will die a lot, don't get attached to a specific run
2.A run can be over any moment, if you lose your limbs it's pretty much over, however you can still use a lost run to gather information, then use the new knowledge to make progress in another attempt. It is pretty much a series of knowledge checks, the more you find out in a run the better are your chances in the next attempt.
3.Party members are extremely valuable, this is the fastest way to get stronger and survive encounters.
4.You can save by using a bed in certain areas, you can either go for the coin flip or kill everything in that map to make the save "safe", the first game is a lot more lenient in terms of saves, the second game has a save limit basically.
5.Your Guard skill will not only reduce damage by half but it will also protect you from limb loss(in the first game) and coin flip attacks, coin flip attacks are usually telegraphed by text, so pay attention to that. People refuse to use Guard and complain they are getting their ass kicked.
