It's very simple. Water in almost every game slows people down and removes almost all of your moveset. That's bad. Zora Link inverts that and makes water something you can move very fast and deadly through, in a way the water was designed around. That's awesome.

Having no options is essentially punishing you. If you don't want your player to feel punished, as water does, don't deny them options.
