I think I'd prefer if someone good at writing and atmosphere made a MiA knockoff game, just because I feel they'd have more freedom to make an interesting abyss diving game than official ones ever will.
Just don't ask for anime to be adapted into a video game, ever. You almost always wind up with shitty gameplay under a coating of a shitty story presentation. Studios making original IPs are more likely to combine solid gameplay with a cohesive story experience.

The problem is licensed games being almost universally handled by third rate junk peddlers like spikechun, because the IP holders don't give a shit as long as it advertises the source material.
If we could get the likes of platinum's transformers regularly they'd be much better regarded as an idea.
