>Epic is better for developers
It really isn't, actually. Steam has far more customers so you get more sales. Steam has far more features that attract people to the platform. Steam does free advertisement for you via the recommended and for you tabs. Steam has things like the workshop allowing for mod support if your game supports it.
Really, the only "advantage" EGS has is a lower fee, but who cares? Devs aren't dying because of Steam's fees, lmao. There has never been game studio that was like "Fuuuuck if the fee was only 15% we'd have been able to make the next AAAA game and keep our studio afloat!!!"
The problem with indie game dev is that there are so many games released every day and every week and every month and every year that it is feast or famine. Most games tend to sit in the under 100 reviews camp or will get to above 1,000 and once you're above 1,000 you start getting more and more recommendations and momentum and eyes on your project. Steam can't really do anything about that. EGS can't either. No one can. You're entering into a cutthroat market. Deal with it.
