There are games that teach you to count cards but none that call you out for it.
Most games with blackjack reshuffle the deck after every hand making counting impossible, then some like New Vegas straight up give you better cards with a higher luck stat.

Like, how is "card counting" different from counting your tiles in domino? Or looking at what cards were played in poker and calculating your odds? Why is it so different and illegal in blackjack?

Unsurprisingly cashinos are in the business to make money. Once you start consistently beating the odds they don't want you. But funny enough most people suck at card counting and end up losing money anyways so they don't care if you count cards but still lose money. They just don't want you to win more than you lose.

It's essentially a very strict memorized super sweaty optimized form of what you're describing. The real money comes from having a super aggressive bet spread where you're betting table minimum when the count is low (or just leaving the table entirely) and betting WAY more than the table minimum when the count is high, so that's primarily what casinos look for. If you're clearly counting cards but you're just flat betting, they're not gonna bother you. It's less about the counting strategy itself and more about you combining that with super optimized betting and turning the game into a job that they have a problem with.

A lot of the mass appeal of blackjack comes from the idea that the game CAN be beaten even if people don't actually know how. Changing the rules to make the game uncountable turns away gamblers too so instead they offer the beatable game but then ask you to leave if they think you're too good and your bet spread is too aggressive. It's an odd cat and mouse game

I wouldn't say you have to "play like shit" to be allowed to stay, even without counting if you follow basic strategy the house edge is extremely low and they'll even sell you basic strategy chart cards in the casino gift shop. You have to be taking the counting and bet spreading to a pretty extreme level to get backed off, it's like top 0.01% of the skill scale.

Normies gonna normie. Many people think card counting is some galaxy brain shit you need 150 IQ to do or think it involves straight up cheating. Counting cards also kind of sucks the fun out of the game if you're a gambler so most people at casinos wouldn't really want to do it anyways.

Yeah but this is RDO funny money. Where originally it would take several IRL hours just to make $100. Because the payrates were in literal pennies. Buying a few cans of beans was enough to financially cripple you in the earlygame.
