Can a game become bad retroactively, without being changed?

I liked Dark Souls on release based on some qualities I believed it had, but then they pumped out so many games like it that I realized those qualities have mostly been my projection, and the feelings the game caused were mostly a fluke rather than something intentionally intended

You just got psyopped by 4chan contrarianism. It became popular so now you have to justify post hoc why you didn't actually enjoy it despite having a great time plaiyng it.

Yes, happened to me with Ocarina of Time, I felt it was special when I first played it and then I went back to play the NES and SNES games and realized they just keep rehashing the same handful of ideas over and over again and that it wasn't nearly as special as I first thought

A Link to the Past is great though
