1. Was far too much of a children's movie, it could be Scooby Doo and almost nothing would be lost in translation until the Maul fight

That's not what happened. They felt that the Chancellor was trying to take control over the Jedi Council and was using Anakin in doing so. Jedi perfectly trusted Anakin in Episode II and were confident in his abilities to protect Padme and sent him on a mission on his own.

He clearly knows the Jedi teachings, as demonstrated multiple times in the movies. Examples: when he told Padme about Jedi being encouraged to love selflessly, when he tried to resist Palpatine that executing Dooku was not the Jedi way and he should not have done that, that he is a Jedi and knows that anger he'd experienced was wrong, and when he did not immediately fall for Palpatine's bullshit at the Opera, firmly replying that the Jedi are selfless and care about others. So clearly, he knows his theory. It was also an exceptional situation, since it was war time, so they had to promote Jedi Knights and assign new padawans, and Yoda assigned him a Padawan to help Anakin just as much.

I've come to realize that Filoni is, for better or for worse, quite literally a modern day George Lucas, down to every decision made.

The whole issue around Anakin having a student is that we never see him transition into a teacher, or have a time skip to establish that he has been a mentor for years. The only fight that was noticably diminished by the actor being unable to perform was Palpatine vs Windu (and Ian McDiarmid was actually fucking old, not 40).
