I was watching someone struggle for... 1 hour and 40 minutes to it WITH the mantle so I tried to beat them again for fun, see how fast I could be. Did it in 1 try. I wonder if no mantle is actually hard or just as boring.

Kind of an unfair comparison given that Deltarune is not complete, so we don't know the knight's whole deal. Flowey was also only a presence at the start and end of the game, whereas the knight shows up halfway through.

For what it's worth, I find the knight's introduction to be one of the top 5 moments in Deltarune. Maybe even top 3.

Tenna was working with the Roaring Knight and this is never brought up later. He was keeping Toriel asleep and close to the door.

No he wasn't. Starting the game Flowey just felt like a bait and switch to show you the setting is dangerous, he didn't feel very memorable or important at all beyond that, especially since he got immediately manhandled by Toriel. There was nothing to the character.

It's not entirely clear what the deal with the Knight is. Flowey was my favorite character from Undertale, but he really only confronts you at the beginning and at the end of the game, and most of his backstory is revealed also in the ending segments, with different aspects being revealed depending on what route you play. So there's plenty of time for Toby to dig deeper with what the point of the Deltarune's antagonist is in a satisfying way.

A week after chapters 3+4 released some janny went absolutely apeshit and started fucking with deltarune threads. Autosages, forced archives, constant deletions, mass bans, one time the thread was even moved to /trash/. At this point people are just posting out of spite, interest would've died down by now but they can't really stop people from making threads. There's very little to discourage ban evasion, there's enough people with genuine interest in the game to keep the threads going despite the constant janny meltdowns.
