You literally get a whole bunch of people that you get to robust, that stumble about in their traitor ways and that you can fuck with.
Last time I played SS13 I was always fighting idiots that were extremely meta, that always had the right solution to everything, I even played in a server as a vampire, about to convert a ninja into a servant and the fucker decided to self explode because they were seething about having been robusted by 1 ability.
And that was like my second time playing as a vampire so I didn't know what the fuck I was doing, if the ninja had been a newbie we could've been two idiots with tons of powers not knowing exactly what the fuck was going on.

I play as Captain, everything is chill, then a veteran of the server immediately murders me with some bullshit traitor combo of items and perfect input.

I'm not saying that ultra veterans are bad for the servers but things get boring fast when all you're facing is hyper experts who know every single detail of the game.
You NEED bumbling fools to make the game work, you NEED engineers who mess up the singularity/tesla/whatever, you NEED chefs who just throw raw meat on the counter, you NEED miners who die to the fauna constantly who you then save only so they can go back and die to the same fauna because they learned nothing.
Incompetent people make the game a hundred times more fun, plus when there's only veterans playing you get admins bwoinking you because you didn't go through the 12 step program to initiate fisty cuffs with an assistant that's stealing tools from robotics (no valid hunting allowed).

SS13 was my favorite game, I was so happy playing it endlessly. One of the few games that brought me nothing but joy. It is no more, it's been picked apart in every way possible. This sort of game cannot exist now, and probably wont have space to exist until some far future.

I'd kill for a human only CM variant on SS14, All the non-human bullshit destroys my immersion. The community is also filled to the brim with underage so you don't see much RP outside of a few gimmick characters.
