New bullshit from Google to nerf extensions on Chromium based browsers, specifically targeting ad-blockers as they're by far the most popular types of extensions and Google makes a killing on ads. You can still side load extensions, switch a Chromium browser with a built-in ad block like Brave or Vivaldi, or just switch to a Firefox browser.

>>715211240The issue with this is that ublock origin had been so heavily optimized at this point
Manifest v3 means that every block rule now has to go through the declarativeNetRequest API, meaning that the browser itself decides on whether it will block something or not, so if Google one day decides they don't like a specific rule they can just stop allowing it through.
They also have hard rules on the amount of blocking rules that an extension can ship with.
They took away the control extensions used to have so adblockers using Manifest v3 will be slower and simply not work as well.
Thankfully people pushed back and some of the decisions that they wanted to go with were changed because of all the backlash they were getting but they still pushed the rest of the Manifest v3 shit on everyone.
There's a reason this is called lite.
>>715210224That shit was completely blown of out proportion by tech-illiterate redditors who do nothing but snort headlines all day. Some "tech" sites wrote some shitty articles about it with clickbait headlines and the rest is history.

>>715214293yes android only unfortunately.
>>715214402Apple opened it up for the EU last year, you can apparently have non-webkit browsers now on iOs. But I'm not a Eurocuck so I don't know if any browsers bothered.
>>715211823I think it'll survive if only because nerds use it.
every place I've worked all the devs used Firefox or flavors of.
I moved to firefox a little while ago, it's okay but website google translate is just a bit spottier, other than that no problems. I didn't move earlier because tab groups weren't a thing in firefox until some time this year. Also moved to a real password manager instead of being chained to google's. Feels good
>>715214219I wish they were at least amusing like those side banners that got you to shoot Osama Bin Laden in the head or something. Now it's just either scams, frauds or outright ragebait designed to make you furious. Usually all three.
>>715214487maintaining a different codebase and allowing/disallowing it for people who travel to different countries would probably get annoying
>>715213058The websites you visit get money and the companies you hate spend money on what they think are real ad clicks. although im fairly certain after google lost millions from adnauseum they can detect the fake clicks now.
>>715213862Back when the majority of internet users were dorks yeah, now it's the entirety of humanity, aka retards.
>>715214365I just don't close anything. I think this is my record.
>>715207839 (OP)i switched to brave today :)
It boggles my mind that people are such dumb cattle that they can't even install another browser
>>715214498Google sites are the only ones I ever have issues with on Firefox. They intentionally break the rules for rendering HTML as standard, probably to get more people to switch to Chrome to "fix" it.
>>715214606the amount of people using an extension like this is minuscule and will do nothing
it would at best incentivize websites to have more ads because they don't care who has real clicks or not, they're gonna get paid anyway
ad networks see more people are clicking on things so the product managers pat themselves on the back
>>715214293If you are using an iphone then you actively want to see ads anyway.
>>715214365>Woah, this figure look cool, better keep the tab open so I don't forget to pre-order it when I get paid>Woah, this anime look cool, better keep the tab open so I don't forget to watch when I will have the time>Woah, this thread about all racing game look cool, better keep the tab open so I can check it next time I'm looking for one
>>715214754microsoft does put some warnings up a few times about switching to a different browser on windows so I can see why some people are reluctant to switch from chromium based ones like edge
>>715213309>>715213703Neither of you are disputing what I said, so why do you sound so argumentative?
Posting from Firefox on mobile :)
>>715214378If you have android you can even download forks like https://github.com/fork-maintainers/iceraven-browser
>>715214754helped a friend of a friend renew his drivers license online because him "and computers just dont mix hehe"
we share a world with people that cant navigate a UI, I was kinda envious.
>>715214886Maybe people really do deserve to be treated like shit
>>715208415Normies don't install adblocks, why are they after the 1% of users who use them?
>>715214839there's gotta be a better way to organize those thoughts than dog-earing every page in the library.
also disabled a lot of other important extensions besided adblock for me, like 4chanx. what the hell.
>>715215064The growing generations of normies know about adblockers and are teaching the older normies about them, but the truth is google needs to see line go up no matter what and this is their strategy.
>>715207839 (OP)you can just turn it back on.
How many extensions do you use? Personally, I use 23 on Brave and it still works. I just have to keep the browser open forever.
>>715214324muh security vulns
>>715215252for now, yes. I saw the workaround
I just took this as a wake up call to fuck off from Chrome finally
>>715215217Use Brave, it still works fine
>>715208563I can't get autocontrol or swap out how to switch tabs on Firefox. That's the sole reason I don't use it.
Worst part? Those fucking niggers used to let you double click and focus a tab then you could easily swap through them all with left and right arrow keys.
Then they updated like 5-8 years ago and it's been gone ever since. Even chrome didn't let me do that shit until I fucked with autocontrol. Now I had to swap to Brave and remove all the crypto bullshit so I can keep doing shit.
>>715209961Yeah because Pilate didnt even want to execute Jesus, literally jews wanted a murderer to go free over Jesus
Go read matthew 27 you fucking mongoloid
>Librewolf
>Ublock
>TreeStyleTabs (with custom CSS)
any other way to use the internet is inferior
Why don't you just use Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi, or some other browser you've never heard of in your life? Unless it's a work computer and they're literally forcing you to use Chrome or you die and get fired, there's not really a reason to use Chrome in your personal life.
>>715215363You literally did not dispute what I said.
im on edge. how much longer do i have?
>>715215348I swapped out ages ago, just noticed it today when I opened chrome on accident.

>>715207839 (OP)I simply manually installed it after it got removed so it's fine for me.
>>715208506Just use a Firefox fork like Waterfox or Pale Moon
>>715215576>im on edge>microjeet
>>715215596I mean...the same can be said when talking to people who hold man-written religious views.
Firefox is my dedicated porn browser and I have like 300 tabs open on it. What do I do now?

I remember what got me to install Chrome in the first place, it was a damn RuneScape promotion of all things. Can't remember what you got for signing up but obviously compared to Shiternet Explorer it was a massive upgrade back then, so I stayed with it. This would have been circa 2010.
And I stuck with it all these years, even though I knew Google was evil, because it just worked and I'm only marginally better than a normalfag with computers. Adblocker is non-negotiable though, so now it's Firefox.
I only wish more people would wake up, I'm sick of everything getting shittier and shitter from how it was in the 90s and 2000s. I can't even freely browse porn sites in my hick fucking state.
>>715215576Try drinking some hot ginger tea. That always calms me down when thinking about the inevitable.
>>715215734All religious views are man written
>>715207839 (OP)it just happened to me today too, it broke a ton of my extensions. I'm done changing to Firefox.
shit's not easy anon, but if I could do it, then I believe you can, as well
>>715214754>just use another browser>this faggot website blocks me from posting for like 2 months earlier this year because (((cloudflare))) arbitrarily decided I was a bot
>>715212849It makes 4chan easier to navigate and gives some QoL. For example, the tab icon changes when a new post is made and adds an exclamation point if you get a (You). Bunch of other shit I can't remember, since I've been using it for almost a decade now.

>>715215906Again with these dipshit responses that aren't disputing what I've said, yet somehow are argumentative nonetheless.
Yes, anon, I am aware. That is why I said what I said.
>>715208747Jesus is the son of God who is God and has always existed. He is as much of a Jew as the holy spirit is a burning bush, or Zeus is cattle if you want an example from a different religion.
>>715209961Oh, is that what happened? Guess I gotta fix the part of the Bible that says that his blood is on the hand of the Jews and their descendants.
