Bananza is releasing a month later, it absolutely could have been a launch title and Nintendo's decision not to make it one was a shrewd business decision. People don't realize this but Mario Kart sells GTA numbers on Nintendo consoles. Mario Kart World was all they needed to sell the console at launch. However, it's more of a multiplayer title with maybe a dozen hours of singleplayer content at most so right about their huge launch install base are looking for something new to hold them over. DK ordinarily isn't a huge seller for Nintendo so they intentionally set this up to reinvigorate the IP.

There's no way it doesn't launch this year. What games are you waiting for in particular? Because we're still extremely early on but there's bound to be more big titles in the near future than what they've announced so far.

Picked up a Switch 2 at launch, and I was thoroughly underwhelmed by Mario Kart World.
I've just been waiting for DK, Metroid, and Kirby Air Riders to convince me I didn't waste my money.

The console is $450. It's $500 if you want MK world bundled with it. DK Bananza is $70, so not sure where you're getting this 500 + 80 number. Nobody is forcing you to buy more games but yes, that's gonna cost money. There's also no $5 microphone. The console has a built in microphone. As for the "expensive online" it is at least cheaper than Playstation or Xbox's online, but that's also not mandatory if you have no interest in playing online games.

You seem to have made up your mind that you're not getting a Switch 2. What do you want out of this thread, people to convince you or something?

As for August, September, November, and December, those are definitely open slots for Metroid. I'd expect they want to shine the light on Mk World first, then Bananza, and after that we should be getting more news on the other stuff they announced as they'll probably want to highlight one big game each month, which was their strategy with the Switch as well.

Prime 4, Rune Factory 6, and that's really about it for things already announced. Future things I know'll be coming but have yet to be announced would be a new Smash, new FE, and new Xenoblade. Deciding factor for me with Switch 2 was Rune Factory GoA and F-Zero with friends, and I'd say I got my cash worth on those, RF's especially great with its mouse controls. There was a brief period of hopium I was huffing with that recent ArcSys Direct where the word was from their data leaks that they had a new Switch 2 exclusive game in development, I was hoping for a GBVSR-styled FEH fighter, but the Direct was nothing but crap, and I don't think in my wildest dreams IS'd be based enough to commission ArcSys for that.

I'd probably double-dip for GBVSR if it packed in all the DLC so far, including costumes, I'd anticipate nobody else would buy and play it though. Same for Relink.

Now what I'd really want is for CyGames to make a console version of GBF or some new game that just compiles the story up to where it's at currently so I can follow the series without having to trudge through low-quality Youtube videos to read through it. I want to get into this series more, but between squandering the anime and manga, and the gacha being several years removed and shitty to play on browser, it's rough.

Same, it would also be a double dip of both games for me and I've watched the anime but I've tried several times to get into the main gacha game but I just can't with those, they have a really good gameplay formula with Relink, I hope they do sequels.
