Depends on what you're trying to do. I've had problems finding the right settings for what I wanted which is something a bit autistic. 300 players total, all arms warriors, only dwarfs on alliance and trolls on horde, all ranging from level 40 to 45. 300 seems to be the sweet spot if you don't want the default 1000 for just bgs. Disabled health potting on bots because it's broken, and I think that's all.

SoloCraft is ready to enable in SPP settings, and you don't need an internet connection or an account for it. Soloing dungeons is a bit awkward. For example, the final battle in scarlet cathedral bugged out for me. Some dungeon mechanics are not made for soloing. Erenshor is like a watered down version of spp. I've played quite a bit of spp over the years on and off and a good chunk of erenshor before getting burned out. spp is superior in every way. Erenshor is an interest imitation of how mmo's used to play but the stock models, sounds, music and everything else bring it down. Spp is anything but complicated as they've made it pretty easy to set up and it's retard proof. Only thing is, if you want to play wotlk you're better off going with azerothcore but there's a bunch of repacks out there that make it similar to spp.

Can confirm, at least overworld and dungeons feel pretty neat.
Bots are just buggy enough to resemble real players just enough.
As warlock of 50th level i can recomment several macro:
/p follow (normal bot mode with some intelligence)
/p guard (guard mode, some patrolling, useful in some dungeons like Shadowfang)
/p flee (or whatever command enables this mode - travel mode, bots don't attack unless something is within melee radius and attack command is issued)
Macro for attacking your target.
Macro specificaly for your designated tank to attack your target (is made through his name).
/p loot (useful for quests).
los (LOS) - bots report all objects they see, including warlock's ritual of summoning.
u [object_link] - also for quests and warlock summoning. Make sure bots stay near the object, aren't in flee mode.

Have my own version of this that I'll release at some point. Have coded probably 75 other classes of bots for various purposes. I'm thinking of placing a multitude of hireable NPCs in the world from a lowly guardsmen up till a mighty Warcraft 3 hero class. Loads of interesting party making potential with 40 classes in a raid.

To clean inventories - use button in bot's interface to show it (most likely there is a command too), then "destroy [item_link]" When said into party chat will make everyone to destroy all such items.
e [item_link] - to make bot to equip some item from his inventory. Up until i had figured that out, my warrior tank had ben tanking with two-handed sword (as he was supposed to be arms, but i hadn't figured out details on making a bot to change his build strategy back then). However together with my void and proper controlling things were somewhat fine up to level 30 at least.

for some quests there is a level requirement, so if you would play with a full party in some cases you would want to "level up" bots admin-style - it is done through that fast-running console, just write level-up command with bot's name in notepad with enter in the end for new string, copy it (along with empty new string) and paste to the console.

This is the most bona-fide zoomer thing I've seen. People didn't play wow all those years and keep going back because it was singleplayer. The social aspect is a key, intrinsic part of WoW's success and longevity ESPECIALLY speaking of its early years and golden age. Imagine an AI barrens chat. Sad shit.

You can, but you'll have to prepare macroses to "explain" bots what to do and keep control over them. Basically almost the same awls raiding with real people, but bots will mostly actually listen to you.

Sending command in any chat will make everybody in that chat to follow the command. Raid, party, whisper, say. So to apply the command your entire raid just write /r command_name in macro.

Don't know about others, but i'm autistic. My entire life sans some mandatory for survival chores and some irritating almost unavoidable without negative physical consequences interactions happens in my head. I read a book, i watch a movie, i talk to you, i "talk" to bot - everything can be equally entertaining or depressing, enraging or joyful for me. And if i don't see the difference - i'll pick Matrix in my head with pleasant external factors and features for entertainment, solitude (in your opinion) for the rest. All my friends are in my head, some of them just happen to have physical presence. All people, all animals, all toys, all items, in fact, are in my head when i see or interact with anybody or anything. It is that when that anything starts to actively produce some negative for me things, some of characteristics of that one "in my head" are updated accordingly. Imagination is my greatest tool. It helps me to live in much better world (while using just enough logic and awareness of "real" world to consciously maintain just enough interaction as required to make sure, that nobody "real and negative to me" will be bothering me and not an attosecond more).
So bots are fine. Those particular bots provide more than enough details to be my good guild bros. For you it is dishonesty. For me they are just as real as various people i have encountered so far, but much, much less unpleasant.
